If they had some type of organization with management and employees trust me the store would run more smoothly and efficiently I understand companies get into shortages and short staff but still us as a community managers should be willing to listen to customers and either run their businesses more in a standard that works for everyone because transactions that can be done more quickly and easily

Never again in this store!
I was a regular for a 15 years. I am an old school, still using a computer and a simple cellphone.
In order to pay for a watermelon $3.99 it is not enough to have your club-card or the phone number!
The condition now is app and electronic coupons for the app!! Otherwise the watermelon is $8.99, and many other things are double or more expensive without the app!

Safeway team be aware that not all ppl have options to use the app!

I’ll be the 1st to give up and stop shopping at your store…

Clean, well stocked store, and fruits and veggies were fresh with decent prices.

Staff is very friendly!!. Store is clean and well-managed. Yes, the prices at checkout are often higher than they are on the shelves. I’ve been cheated several times. But what can you do?

Disgusting. Cockroach-infested. This is not the first time I’ve seen a roach roaming about in this store.

SAFEWAY PRICES ARE OUTRAGEOUS!-I PREDICT CUSTOMERS WILL START REVOLTING AGAINST THESE GROSSLY INFLATED PRICES AND SAFFEWAY WILL CLEARLY GET THE MESSAGE AND WILL THEN BEGIN LOWERINNG PRICES WITH BUY 2 FOR 1!-WE'LL SEE!-THESE INFLATED OUT OF CONTROL PRICES CAN'T BE SUSTAINED IN THIS REALLY INFLATED ECONOMY!

Their pharmacy is a disaster, they have been confusing everything I need for a year. I will transfer my prescription to another store. It is a pity

The customer service help I received today was PHENOMENAL! Really. Not exaggerating. Everything that could go wrong with my day did and I needed to change my grocery delivery time about 30min before delivery. The store representative that took my call was real understanding and agreed to my four hour delay request. While doing this I totally neglected checking food substitution msgs. Of course I realize this way toooo late when my order was completed. Again, I make a very desperate call to store that I needed an item change. To my luck, but not his lol, same guy answered. Again he was super polite and made the change although error was mine. That cemented my loyalty to McLean Safeway!!

Don't do the order online and pickup. I came at my pickup time and they were just starting. I came back 90 minutes later and they still weren't done. Staffing seems to be very minimal. I am not hopeful that my order is all there. Also dreading how I will get reimbursed for all missing items. And worried about the items I do get. I imagine that milk that has been out of the fridge for 90 minutes is going to go bad. I am tempted to cancel the whole thing as I am still waiting and I could have done the shopping on my own in the time I have spent waiting.

Stolen groceries! Found this post on Jan 01 2024: "My groceries were stolen from the Safeway on Anderson Road. I shopped there last Tuesday around 530PM and since it was raining I left the groceries in the cart right outside the doors on the side. After I went to get my car and returned (like less than a minute) the groceries were gone. I went inside and asked the employees to please call the manager. After 15 minutes no one showed up so I reshopped (you can imagine my glee) and the manager had yet to appear. I went home and called the store and got the manager on the phone. She couldn't have cared less. Not her problem she said. Well, maybe she could see if they keep track of stuff like that or tell the police to see if this is a trend.
Just be careful there.

The cashier didn't give me the right discount on the blueberry. When I went to check thevpayment with the manager, he didn't correct the price for me even though he had no other things to do at that moment. He sent me back to another cashier who was servicing other customers. I had to wait for a long time until he finished the customer and explained again what happened.

The manager took care of another customer who was behind me in line and also wanted to check the wrong price. That customer could get back his money quickly. But I had to wait forever.

The cashier was nice but had to take a long time to figure out everything. Other customers who were waiting for checking were definitely not happy because they had to wait as well.

It's a bad experience I didn't have before in this store.

I recently purchased both a red velvet and a carrot cake from Safeway, and I must say, there's a noticeable difference in quality compared to Wegmans, which is located nearby. The cakes from Wegmans have set a high bar with their superior quality. This experience at Safeway was underwhelming, and I believe there's significant room for improvement. It's crucial for Safeway to enhance their cake offerings to match up to the competition. I'm glad I had the chance to compare, as it highlighted what I may have been missing. I hope Safeway takes this feedback into consideration, as I would love to see an upgrade in their bakery section. Until then, I'll be reluctant to make another cake purchase here.
