Have been going here for around a year now, and I have more than 1500 stars. This is my “home” location; that puts into perspective how often I frequent the McLean southblock. Almost every time, my bowls are delicious: good consistency, filled to the brim with fruit, and fresh. Today, however, I was very un pleasantly surprised. I ordered 3 items, like I usually do. 2 warrior bowls with extra honey and chia seeds, and one smoothie. One of my warrior bowls was made using the almond milk base. Luckily, I checked before leaving, as the person I was giving the bowl to is allergic to almonds. The staff remade the bowl for me. However, the consistency of the bowls was incredibly under par. They were so liquid, as seen in the picture. They were even more liquid than the consistency of the smoothies I usually get from south block. Also, the bowls were not full! There was a scarce amount of fruit and very little of the (liquid) smoothie base. The smoothie base tasted weird and not fresh.The smoothie itself was incredibly liquid, but somehow thicker than the smoothie bowl… it also wasn’t blended fully. The only reason I am giving this 3 stars and not 2 is because the staff were friendly and it has been very good in the past. I never write bad reviews, but feel it is necessary to today. I am very disappointed in south block, as this order costs close to $40.

The absolute best place for Acai bowls and smoothies. To me this is the number one business in this field. On average I try to get South Block between 2 to 4 times per week. Staff is incredibly friendly and inside and out there are great places to sit. Visit them on a very very very hot day and you'll feel like your in heaven.
