I wanted to like this place but it leaves much to be desired. Our bread was cold and the pizza was undercooked and bland. We needed to eat our pizza with a fork and knife because the crust fell apart from being undercooked. Our waiter was fine but the food could really be improved.

Very delicious Napolitano foodVery well cooked with care and attentionTraditional Italian restaurant with emphasis on real Italian not Italian-American dishes.Very good servers.Owners are involved in operations and engaging with diners. The cream for pasta was well made, not taste thick and waxy. And pizza was wonderful.Drink options are good.Great place for family, couples, social, and semi formal dining. Can't find a flaw or fault in this fine establishment.??????????️Highly recommended from someone who does not eat Italian foods often.

AHMAZING!!!!!!! I am definitely coming back here often because the foods are truly delicious and very light. Not too heavy and perfect the amounts of their ingredients! The waitress Salim was the top notch!!!! Look for him. :)Another reason we came here because we were told by our Deaf friend that this restaurant is owned by Italian family and the son is also Deaf. We are Deaf family and we want to support Deaf business too!!! :)Don’t forget to ask for Bananas Flambé! You must try this!!!!Kid-friendliness: My kids love it!!!!

My wife and I had drove to McClain from N.C, and we were staying across the street at a hotel. It was a combination of a business and our Anniversary getaway. It was 5:30 and we were ready for dinner. The front desk suggested this little Italian Restaurant. So grateful they did. It was the perfect evening from the moment we walked in and the genuine greeting we received. As we sat we felt like we had back taken back in time to a small Trattoria in a little village. Our server, Salim greeted us and set the tone for our dinner walking us through the menu. We ordered oysters on the mussels, so fresh and the broth was incredible. I had the gumbo and she had the Cesar Salad. Both were fresh and such incredible favors with fresh baked bread. We our entrée I had the Pasta Beef Bolognese and to be honest, I do not remember what she had. What a difference in-house made pasta with fresh ingredients makes! Now, when we sat down, we had looked at the dessert menu and my wife tried to order the Banana Foster's Flambé but I had seen it was available on Sundays. Salim was so kind to go back and see, since it was our anniversary, if they could make an exception. At the end of the meal, the owner, Salvatore Esposito, rolled out the cart and made our dessert t the table, it was the crowning touch to our Anniversary dinner! We will never forget this special dinner and the hospitality and love we felt at The Italian Oven from all the staff and the owner. We will make this a must dinner whenever we are traveling in the area. Much love to all there and much continued success, a rare jewel these days and you will taste the love put into every course they serve

Solid pizza, about the same as Pulcinella was prior to Italian Oven taking back the spot they had been leasing to Pulcinella. Just ate there today - quick lunch - and they have included a credit card fee! It was on the check prior to my telling them how I was even paying. It's not a lot - I think about 4%, but come on. So now I either have to tell the waiter that I am paying in cash, have him take back and re-do the check, pay the extra $1.25 or use a cc. This nickel and diming is totally annoying and totally ridiculous not to mention illegal! Clydes found out the hard way... Incredible service and food. The ambiance was great too. We got to meet one of the owners who talked to us about the history of the restaurant and its name. A humorous and easy to talk to person who enjoys talking with his customers. The food was all incredible, especially bread/dough they use for their pizza. Wonderfully chewy yet light. Their pastas are solid as well. Nice chew and the chicken they add is seasoned well. The boars check carbonara that one of us had was so flavorful, it was easily one of the best dishes we had tonight. Would come here again!
