Been going here for years and it has gone downhill noticeably in the past couple of visits. We order pretty much the same few entrees and seeing the quality and quantity decrease is very sad compared to how it was. After our most recent experience we will never be going back. The food was missing topings/ingredients. Our server asked us how it was when they brought us food and never came to ask us how it was while we were eating it. We didn't realize immediately and on the menu there was a cheaper item that was exactly what we had received, and it wasn't the end of the world to not have the toping. When we finally got our servers attention we asked if they would charge us for the cheaper item that was exactly what we got and they got an attitude and said we should have asked for the toping before we ate the meal. Then they sat down next to us and talked to us like we were children and harassed us. It was a very upsetting and almost traumatizing experience and the way they talked to us was completely unprofessional.
There was another time before this encounter where the waiter was incredibly rude and defensive, and we ended up leaving before even ordering.
So needless to say on top of the decreasing food quality and quantity the servers have completely ruined this restaurant experience for us. We used to love it and eat there every couple weeks. I can say now that we will never be going back.

I recently visited Bell Cafe in Mechanicsville, VA, and it did NOT disappoint!
Just reading the menu had our mouths watering, everything looked amazing! I decided on the veggie scramble. The roasted veggies were incredibly flavorful, and it was clear that all of our dishes were made with high-quality, fresh ingredients. Everything tasted homemade and delicious. I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a great meal.
Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options and they have the option to sub regular sausage for impossible sausage.

I was so blown away by this little cafe tucked in an unassuming strip mall. the outside patio was so cute and the food was speedy and delicious with great portion sizes, but the highlight of our experience was the service! our server told us they had only been working there for two weeks but they were so friendly and casual with us and very attentive without being overbearing. I can't remember the last time I've had such a pleasant experience at a food service establishment.

This is a lovely breakfast/lunch spot. No overdone tacky decor; just clean with the right amount of personality.
Our Meals:
Frech Toast x2 with eggs and bacon x2
Omelet with potaotoes
Chicken Salad Sandwich with fries
4 lattes
Total $97
Everything was good, but the fench toast was the star. Looked simple but it was really good. Service was fast and very friendly. Definitely coming back.

Bell Cafe never disappoints, had an amazing brunch today! I had the Shrimp and Grits, they were absolutely delicious and made to perfection. No lie, the best I’ve had in the Richmond area. My husband had the Crab Cake Benedict with bacon cheese grits, he said it was so tasty. I also had a pineapple ginger mimosa that was so good, sorry no picture. The service is also top notch, Irish took amazing care of us. If you haven’t tried Bell Cafe, you really need to. It’s worth a nice car ride if you aren’t close by.

I first visited this place in 2018 and we were blown away by the service and the food. We place a lot of to-go orders because the place is so busy and I can say they need some improvement in this arena. We order mostly salads and dressing is left off in error, our Cobb salad today was missing bacon and artichokes. That is a pretty big miss for a $21 salad. I do not know anyone that inspects a salad for ingredients before they walk out the door. Once home and discovered it is too far to go back and have them correct the error. I called once time and the person at the bar said sorry and hung up on me. I called back and asked for a manager who refunded us because of their mistake. I am not sure what it is like now to eat at the restaurant but I can’t recommend takeout.
