“From happy hour and casual meals with friends to special occasions, Charred has always been a local go-to for our family. While we have always had positive experiences and appreciated the level of customer service received, my husband and I were completely blown away last week. My husband placed a to-go order. Once home we realized they had left out a large order of fries he had been charged for. While it wasn’t a big deal, he did call to see if they would refund his card. The manager on duty was not only the kindest, most apologetic, but he offered to have the fries delivered to our house free of charge. We made it clear that was not necessary yet he insisted. When the very sweet employee arrived to our house, she told us they had included extra ranch (knowing I’m personally obsessed with their ranch dressing and always ask for extra) as well as two complimentary desserts. Aside from the delicious food, the customer service is bar none! I couldn’t recommend Charred more!”

“We found Pastahouse after realizing traffic was pretty bad after the Richmond marathon expo at the raceway. This was a pre race meal so we were hoping for fresh and clean food. This place is a gem! Absolutely amazing! Chicken parm, eggplant parm and chicken Marsala were excellent! So fresh and good. Website multiple times that we wish we had a place like this back home. Highly recommend!”

“When my managers weren’t able to make our wedding cake because they were going to be on vacation, I was totally freaking out and my husband told me about this bakery and I’m glad he did. They let us come in to do cake tasting and after we decided what we wanted they were able to make our wedding cake and they delivered it to our venue. It was amazing. Thank you guys so much. The cake was good and I can’t wait til our anniversary to eat out top tier. You guys did a wonderful job. Here is a picture of it.”

“We don't eat out often, but Riverbound is the local place we frequent the most. Always enjoy their food, they have great service - even when super busy, the waitstaff tend to keep us aware of where we "stand in the queue." Menu offers a lot, they also have weekly specials. Burger night is great for picking up and sharing. Favorite Sunday brunch place in the area - I ALWAYS get the French toast. Great neighborhood spot that will please most.”

My husband really enjoyed his bacon cheeseburger and tater tots. The portions are huge, neither one of us could finish. Everyone needs to come eat here. I need this place to succeed. I’m already planning my next trip back.”

“The orange chicken and lettuce wraps were ok. The sushi was bland and was awful. The summer rolls were also bland and the shrimp were small. Some of the worst Asian food I have had. Would rather eat grocery store sushi. Very disappointed.”

“Best pizza in mechanicsville and surrounding areas! I live 35 minutes away and will make the drive just to get this pizza. I usually like the xl pizza because the slices are bigger (like a NY style). The pepperoni's do that curl up on the edges, too! Yum!!!
I wish I had pictures but we eat it so fast, I always forget to take them.
Also, go to the Slice App, and there are coupons you can use! I usually get the large pizza with 1 topping for $13 and some change. HUGE savings!

“If you come to this Applebee's in Mechanicsville ask for Corey to be your server. This was the best experience my husband and I have ever had. The food was on point but even more our server was constantly on top of things. Yesterday I bought a gift card and ordered a drink and the young gentleman was extremely nice but I was overly impressed with the fact that the lady after me began asking him questions in sign language and she placed her order with him. He communicated with her and she seemed very happy to be able to talk to someone about her purchase. I would just like to say to this young man “good job” you are essential and important and we are lucky to have someone who can communicate with all customers”

“I ordered a steak and cheese sub onions green peppers Swiss cheese on wheat extra lettuce. The bun was less than half the size as your usual buns if you changed the bread you should let your customers know because we are paying the same price. The sub was very messy and no extra lettuce had some sweet pickles or something on it. The wrapping paper was wet and sockey sandwich wasn’t good at all for 10.00. I really enjoyed your sandwich’s from the beginning but afraid I won’t be back. Please train you people to fix the sandwich’s better was only two employees in the store. Very disappointed.

Parking: Not concerned about parking just the food. It’s a waste to get home and your sandwich is not like it use to be.”

“This is new ownership and a new beginning. I wished they brought in new furniture instead of using the old stuff. The ice machine and the coke machine are still having issues like before. I will give them a second chance but they need to really focus on the atmosphere and keeping everything working so you can truly enjoy your meal. It’s going to take some time for the new staff to learn how to roll a Burrito so be patient with everyone. The food was good but we had a bunch of stale chips in our bag, they will improve on this as well. I will update once I go back again in a couple of weeks. Good luck new owners”

“Bartenders Vince and Jake were great, friendly, welcoming. Food came out fast and was great. There was a female manager with red hair that was barking orders at the staff and could have been doing more to help the other workers. She totally made the atmosphere up tight and uncomfortable for me and I'm a customer. Maybe have her sit at the host stand and greet customers, or help out with cleaning tables, or make sure the bathroom has soap, or just stay in the back. She interrupted the bartender while talking to me to tell him about checking his tips out and he was running around tending to multiple guests. You lead by doing and being example, she seems like a dictator and her demeanor was rude. She never even asked me how everything was, or wasn't walking around checking on customers. If bartenders are tending to customers they might not see someone come in the door. I would have given this a much lower rating but I was disappointed to see this restaurant with a 3.9 rating when it has the best wings in Central Virginia and don't want to reflect poorly on the staff and food but wanted someone to hear the feedback that is necessary for improving the environment.”
