“We are elated to discover this delightful bakery! We enjoyed an array of delicious treats in a warm and inviting cafe. The muffins and brownies were our favorite, but we stocked up. It's rare for us to find a place that can meet our family's dietary restrictions (and deliciously!). The staff was helpful and friendly. We will be regulars! Thanks AnnaB's!“
“We went in at dinner time and it was packed. This is a good thing. I'm glad to see that business is booming. We ended up eating in the outside seating which was kind of nice.Always a good experience there. Great food! Great customer service.“
“Imagine succulent salmon fillets grilled to perfection, infused with the tangy zest of lemon butter that tantalizes your taste buds with each bite. The richness of the buttery sauce complements the delicate salmon, creating a symphony of flavors that dance on your palate. As you savor each morsel, the burst of briny capers adds a delightful contrast, enhancing the overall depth of the dish.Accompanying the salmon are plump, tender mussels bathed in a luxurious garlic butter sauce. With every spoonful, the aroma of garlic fills the air, inviting you to indulge in its savory essence. The velvety texture of the butter coats each mussel, amplifying their natural sweetness and creating a harmonious blend of flavors.Together, the lemon butter grilled salmon and butter garlic mussels create a culinary masterpiece that is both comforting and exquisite, leaving you craving for more with every unforgettable bite. That is my experience though ?“
“By far the best Italian food we've found. There are so many in the area, but this Giovanni's is the best. I love their pizza, and last night we had the pesto tortellini and it was so creamy and flavorful. My husband had minestrone soup and said it was the best he's ever had. Portion sizes were very generous and service was incredible. With all the staffing issues so many restaurants have had lately, we had no issues with waiting at all and everyone was so friendly. 5 stars all around“
“This place for some reason closes in the middle of the day and opens again at 430.Food was excellent but they really need to bring back the brunch special they had before covid. That is what put them on the map. Hopefully sooner rather then later.“
“I love love this place!!! I get lunch here with my mom after work. This place has always held a special place in my heart, I’ve been going here since I was a kid I love their food and the workers. Everything is always so nice on the inside and the staff’s energy is always warming!!“
“Sunday happy hours 5-6pm for selected desserts at the counter! The waiter was sweet to recommend us to switch from the original to the chocolate croissant. We also bought an almond blueberry scone with a slice of sugar powdered brownie. They're delicious, it's just that the scone didn't fit my taste as much.Highly recommend some of the pins there with funny taglines (Eat the Rich, anybody?) and nice old time cartoon stickers for $3. It's a nice little shop at Carytown, don't miss it for afternoon tea.“
“Friendly, welcoming atmosphere with great food. The North American Philly Sandwich, and the Tots with cheese blend. Wonderful mix of flavors! The health options of beverages and love the Stubborn fountain drink. We will definitely be visiting here again and will recommend it to our friends! 5 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“
“We came here for happy hour and I could taste that they used a good tequila in the margarita it was so good. I was going to get the firecracker shrimp but they had some Reuben sandwiches left from Saint Patties Day so we both had them and we weren’t disappointed! It came on marbled bread and the corned beef was sweet and tender with no gristle. Shout out to Brendan and DeAndre for excellent service! It was my BFF’s birthday dinner and they sent over a yummy chocolate cake for her. Thank you. Also, shout out to the chef as she really knows how to cook corned beef — it really was delectable.Edited to add that the beet tower with goat cheese was awesome!“
“I took some friends out for their engagement celebration to The Roosevelt and couldn't have made a better choice. The waitress was great. The food was excellent! My girlfriend said it was some of the best scallops she's ever had. Shout out to Will who graciously treated the table to a nice wine for the happy couple!“
“First of all everything was spectacular. Everything thing we ate was packed with flavor and we didn’t feel guilty after eating. Fresh food done well, and the mission behind owner Michelle’s why took us over the top. You have to support this business in the heart of Church Hill.“
“SO many great flavors to choose from; roasted strawberry will spoil you on regular strawberry ice cream forever! The cannoli ice cream(with mini cannoli shell) was excellent. My daughter always gets a sweet little macaron on top of whatever she chooses. It’s such a great spot to grab a great scoop (or two!) of ice cream.“
“Stopped in for lunch. It was very busy as the hostess was dealing with two large groups. She apologized repeatedly. I understood and was patient (I'm never in a rush to rush others). I ordered the mini burger, chicken tenders and fries for my two children. My wife had the hangover burger with a lemon drop martini. I had the fried fish Gripper (it was huge). The flavor and crust was perfect. They have a great beer selection. There were no IPA's on tap so I had the Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat. Our server, Taylor, was amazing and attended to every requests quickly. Thank you for being awesome!“
“My waitress/bartender was exceptionally kind and caring. She checked on me every time she would walk by. Not once did she walk pass without acknowledging my presence or asking if I was ok or needed anything. The male greeter was also extremely kind and caring and even came to back near the bar to inquire about any needs i may have l, even engaged in some meaningful small talk. Another male waiter was very pleasant and answered questions that i had regarding the drink menu. Over all a great experience, great food and awesome hospitality. I highly recommend this establishment to others and will be returning. I came in stressed and left feeling seen, cared for and quite full ?“
“I've been eating and enjoying a favorite beverage with friends (some of the same friends I might add!) for over 40 years. Yikes. Sure, it was "Phil's" then, but through the changes, it remains and retains a greatness that brings me back. Love the "Three Chopt Salad" (fav) and many of the other menu choices. I believe you will love The Continental Westhampton too!“
“We ordered a catered lunch for work which included chicken and lamb kabobs, yellow and white rice, hummus and pita, tabouli, grape leaves, Greek salad and baklava. EVERYTHING was delicious. So flavorful and freshly made! And the presentation was beautiful! The kabobs and rice were piping hot and the salads and hummus were cool and fresh. Everything had just the right amount of spices. And the baklava was the best I’ve ever had and my colleagues were in agreement. The owner went out of his way to prepare an amazing catered lunch. It was beyond 5 stars. We will definitely be ordering again from 2MPS.“
“We ate at La Grotta for the first time last night. It will be the first of many! The service, food, and ambiance were spectacular. We were a party of 3 and each of us cleaned our plates. Our friend with Celiac could choose from almost the entire menu which is unheard of, especially at an Italian restaurant. If you're looking for a truly delicious meal, you'll find it at La Grotta! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“
“First off.....this place is tiny so no parties over 4.....but there's also a nearby park if your group wants to order and eat there. I've done this on a nice day before. The variety of options here is outstanding. I've tried several sandwiches here and have never left unhappy. Most recently I had the Manny, the Teacher, the Scribe and chicken Salad. I would get them all again but the menu is so vast I'm always compelled to try something new. Most recently Kiki took care of us and was great suggesting something new. Keeping this one in the rotation!“
“I consider myself a croissant snob. I love to try new bakeries all the time so I can try their croissants. The croissants from this place were some of the best I’ve ever had. There was quite a line to wait in but I’d say it was worth it. They also have coffee which I think is another big draw to this place.“
“Lovely little bakery on a cute street. Stopped by on a Saturday morning to get the best selection and they had so many tasty-looking items. It was hard to choose! I selected the chocolate-almond croissant, the canele, and the supreme of the day (coffee-chocolate). We moved to Richmond from Charlottesville and I am a big fan of Marie Bette and the late, great Bowerbird Bakeshop. Idle Hands is definitely on the level with these. The supreme is a unique offering, and I'm so glad I was able to try it in one of my favorite flavors - coffee. It was huge and had tons of coffee pastry creme - so good. The canele was good, although I prefer the mini ones from Marie Bette - the smaller size makes a better ratio between the caramely outside and the soft inside. The chocolate-almond croissant was the star of the show. So generously filled with almond cream that it weighed nearly 12 ounces! Light and delicious pastry. A perfect treat!“
“Our go-to for desserts, and they just happen to be vegan! Flavorful, beautifully prepared, unique items you can't find elsewhere. The savory options are amazing too, they are magicians with seitan. Don't miss their seasonal offerings for holidays! Most recently we had a delicious box of items for high tea from their Mothers' Day menu and everything was perfect and fresh. We are really lucky to have Sunflower Gardenz in our city, a hidden gem for sure“
“Les Crepes is wonderful. Another lovely dining experience in Carey town, it's a must do if you're looking for both great desserts and some savory meals. I particularly love the Cinnabona crepe, which is a sweet, fruity cinnamon bun themed dessert crepe. The outdoor porch is spacious and gives amazing views, especially at night. The serving staff has always been prompt, offers solid advice, and have good vibes. They also have a parking lot, which is a huge bonus for the area!“
“This is the best hot & sour soup I've had - it's the closest to that of a Chinese restaurant from my childhood. I immediately ordered another container of it to-go! The bbq pork fried rice has a wonderful smokey flavor. Fantastic service, my waiter was so kind!“
“Dinner with a friend at The Savory Grain. Early reservations for two and were seated immediately. It had been a long time since I had been out so we really wanted to talk over drinks before ordering so I checked with our waitress that this was ok. We did not want to tie up her table if a turnover was needed. She encouraged us to relax and go at our own pace and asked us to let her know when we were ready to order since she did not want to keep interrupting us. A couple of happy hour beers in we ordered the fried green tomatoes appetizer, shrimp and grits entree, and the meatloaf entree. The beer was nice and cold, the food was absolutely amazing. The appetizer arrived long enough before the entree for us to enjoy it. The entrees were generous enough that we both brought home leftovers and mine became my husband’s dinner. I could not have asked for a nicer evening out.“
“Where do I start. Ok, I love this place it feels like home. It is every letter of AMAZING. The taste is unlike any other restaurant here in the city. You can feel the love in each bite you consume. The service is always nice and the food never lets me down. If you haven’t been PLEASE GO it’s one of the best restaurant in Richmond. The yams will make you say “I YAMMMMMMM” lol“
“WPA knocked our birthday cake out of the park. We had to accommodate dairy-free, egg-free, soy-free and gluten-free dietary restrictions and not only was the cake INCREDIBLE, but the service was so good. I emailed my inquiry and got a response quickly. I had a change the week of my order and it was accommodated with a smile. Our birthday girl, who had the dietary restrictions, could not believe that she could really eat the cake. We had one guest day he thought the WPA cake was better than the other one we had that was the same flavor but had gluten, dairy, egg and soy.WPA will now be our go-to bakery. Thank you!I can’t thank WPA Bakery enough for making our birthday cake surprise a huge hit. Thank you!!!!“
“This place has been on my bucket list of places to try for what feels like forever. I'm happy to report it was worth the wait. Lamplighter is busy street corner with a tiny little parking lot in front. They have a separate entrance for you to place your order. When you place your order they ask for your name no additional order number is given. This proved to be a little confusing as there were two Jason's at the same time and they received the wrong drink. I ordered an iced lavender latte, breakfast burrito and a sweet potato muffin. Everything was really good. The breakfast burrito tasted homemade and was accompanied by a fresh salsa that was great. I will flag that this cafe is Vegan friendly as they have several vegan/ vegetarian options on the menu. Overall I really enjoyed my coffee and food and look forward to trying this place out in the future!“
“We ordered through Door Dash and the food was fantastic! I got the Platter with shrimp kebob, veggie kebob, rice, flat bread & cucumber/onion/tomato salad! The ingredients tasted fresh and were seasoned perfectly! It felt like healthy eating and was reasonably priced! We will definitely be ordering from this place again!“
“Picked up dinner from here for some company we had over from Rhode Island. So easy to order online, ready at the estimated time, and all the food was so delicious!! We got the spring rolls, noodles of the drunk w/ chicken, pad see ew w/ tofu, chicken pho, and chicken pad Thai. All dishes were excellent! ?? Our guests from RI loved it!! Would totally recommend if you’re craving Thai food!“
“This is our favorite sweet treat. (Lombardy location) I haven't found any other donut shop with a variety of vegan options. My child has food allergies to eggs and nuts. The employees even placed the vegan donuts in a separate bag/box to prevent cross-contamination. Kudos for the service and the best tasting treats.Vegetarian options: A row of different types of donuts labeled vegan“
“100% dedicated gluten free kitchen and wow was it good. Such a good community spot, tons of people were here on a Saturday morning. Service was pleasant and prompt. My non-gf partner enjoyed his egg, cheese, and avo biscuit and the bananas waffle was a treat unlike any I’ve had since being diagnosed.“
“Terrific staff and beer as always. New set up is terrible. Nobody wants to have a full service brewery. Nobody wants to have to reserve a table. Please go back to original set up. let us sit where we want. order a beer when we want. If we want full service we will go to the restaurant side. This may work at the other locations, but Richmond isn't Charlottesville. This was our goto brewery, today's has us thinking differently now“
“Check the hours before heading over. The shop has free 3 hr street parking outside if you get lucky. The side has a ramp into the shop. We didn't see much of the bakery today, but the ice cream satisfied two kiddies and a grown up(espresso Oreo). There is a restroom for customers only. Quite a few shops on this street didn't have restrooms. The waffle cones are the familiar brand of "Joy". The shop has many seats and tables inside. The view is Byrd Theatre and the cool shop Bygones. I could imagine myself spending a couple of hours enjoying desserts, coffee, bakery,... here.Parking: Free 3 hr street parking if you are luckyKid-friendliness: Kid's size ice creamMy kids love themWheelchair accessibility: The side of the shop has an outdoor ramp up into its side door.“
“Eating pizza, listening to the good ole Grateful Dead, couldnt be better IMO. It had been a really long time since Ive been to Bottoms Up and I was not disappointed in the least. Pizza was soooo dang good, I ate it for breakfast, lunch and dinner the next day!“
“We had the entire restaurant to ourselves for a little and the customer service was great!!! Even after some customers came in, our customer service was still good. The margarita was delicious and we loved the giant single ice cube in it. The sushi rolls were on the small side, but happy hour price Maki rolls are not bad. The restaurant is well decorated and has cute vibe inside. It was an easy stroll from the canal walk to the restaurant. Food was good. Not the best best taste and quality of Thai food that we have had. 5 for service and atmosphere“
“There is no place better than Sally Bell’s. From the award winning potato salad, to the little cheese crackers, upside down iced cupcakes, and deviled eggs, you can’t buy a better prepared lunch. My favorite sandwich is the cream cheese/olive. My kids love the country ham and most go for the chicken salad. Every couple months we make a food run from the Washington area to Richmond and we buy boxed lunches to last for two days, plus an extra pound of potato salad. My grandchildren will now be the 4th generation in my family to love Sally Bell’s. Get in your car and go. Thank me later.Parking: Parking on the side of the building and if needed, in the lot behind.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. Kids with their parents for take out or eat in. I have been going there since I was four.Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible.“
“Such a great little country store with several tables for indoor eating. Sandwiches were SO TASTY!! I brought home two small packages of country ham biscuits for my husband, who said they were delicious!! It was great fun to find all sorts of treasures throughout the shop portion! I will definitely return to this place!!❤️“
