“Well researched food, solidly composed cocktails, and a warm interior make The Roosevelt one of the most talked about restaurants in RVA currently. Chef Leah is as much a researcher as she is a good chef. Being a long time food writer who has been on assignment in many kitchens, its no surprise to me that Leah has carved out a reputation for herself in Richmond recently. She sources a lot from local farmers, adheres often to seasonal common sense, and takes inspiration from her reading and research on Soul Food, Southern food, and Virginia food. I wouldn't classify prices at The Roosevelt as cheap but also wouldn't classify them as extravagant either. Marketed by many as a "neighborhood spot" I always see The Roosevelt as a great date night spot, particularly for those who might fancy themselves foodies. Congrats to Leah and The Roosevelt on their recent James Beard nod. In my opinion, well deserved.“

“Not only the best vegan joint I’ve been to but also my longest supported local business in the state for over a year. The menu might be small but they heavily prioritize quality over quantity. If you’re looking for restaurant quality vegan fast food that’s authentically crafted, then this is the place for you. I cannot recommend this place. Try a cash wrap or a breakfast burrito here and you’ll be in love in no time.“

Please go back to original set up. let us sit where we want. order a beer when we want. If we want full service we will go to the restaurant side. This may work at the other locations, but Richmond isn't Charlottesville. This was our goto brewery, today's has us thinking differently now“

“Our go-to for desserts, and they just happen to be vegan! Flavorful, beautifully prepared, unique items you can't find elsewhere. The savory options are amazing too, they are magicians with seitan. Don't miss their seasonal offerings for holidays! Most recently we had a delicious box of items for high tea from their Mothers' Day menu and everything was perfect and fresh. We are really lucky to have Sunflower Gardenz in our city, a hidden gem for sure“

“I come to IH all the time, right on my street. This morning I got the mixed berry galette and it is the best thing I’ve ever eaten. Not too sweet, perfectly flaky, with the slight crunch of granulated sugar washed on the dough. It is absolute perfection. Please consider making it a regular 😍 Thanks for all you do. Great bakers, great staff, love the music. Thankful you’re always there for brekkie when I’ve been too lazy to grocery shop.“

“Lamplighter is my favorite Richmond coffee shop for many reasons. The coffee is great; they rotate specialty drinks and food, and I think they have a really well-balanced menu that offers something for everyone. The staff are all kind and chill. They offer community drinks and meals, which feels clearly a part of the values of the space and the folks working there.“

“After this place has been on “RVA Restaurants to Try” list for about 3 years, this was our first time eating at Fat Dragon, but it certainly not be our last! The wonton soup was the best my mother has ever tasted…keep in mind, she’s traveled all over the world. The ginger dressing was so delicious, I asked the server if they sold it in bottles. The garlic chicken and basil beef were both so tender and flavorful, I would highly recommend them both. And last but not least, our server was great! Do not wait to try this place like I did!!!! Go now!“

“This is a super sweet shop! I ordered for local delivery to my sister for her birthday who lives in RVA. The sweets were perfect, a great selection and a cute online storefront to select from. Cant wait to visit the shop in person someday! While there was a bit of a mix up in delivery, the store owner quickly and very apologetically remedied it and delivered promptly herself. Very happy with the choice to work with a local small business vs. any other big box brand! Thank you!!“

“I’ve been visiting California Pizza Kitchen for YEARS now, and I’m always so impressed by the quality of the food and the incredible servers! I personally love their cheese pizza with the cauliflower crust. If I’m in the mood for a sweet treat, I always get their warm butter cake with a scoop of ice cream on top.

I always request Lauren as my server, because she is the best! She’s efficient, she always gets my order right, and she helps me pick out the items she thinks I’d like best. When I bring the kids I nanny to the restaurant, she always interacts with them, ensures they have coloring supplies, and even dances along with them to the music.

I 100% recommend this restaurant, and I highly suggest asking for Lauren to be your server. The pizzas are very large and can be shared amongst several people.

If Lauren isn't available, I've also had great experiences with Abby and Bekah and highly recommend them, too!“

“I ordered the veggie sausage and egg breakfast, and every bite was absolutely delicious. The bread was perfectly toasted -- giving flatbread vibes with that warm, crispy crunch of a panini -- which took the whole sandwich to another level. You could truly taste the care and love that went into preparing the meal. To my surprise, it even came beautifully garnished with fresh sliced apples and an orange, such a thoughtful touch. I also tried the Clean Green drink, and it was just as refreshing and flavorful. This spot is the perfect mix of cute, cozy, and seriously delicious -- definitely a restaurant I'd highly recommend to any fellow foodie!“
