“I used to come here almost every day while I was at VCU and lived down the street. It was one of my favorite places in the neighborhood. I just went back for the first time in 15 years (after moving away from RVA). It's so nice to see that this lovely place is still here.I don't normally notice much difference in drip coffee (it's either good or bad... strong or weak basically) but the one they serve there is noticeably excellent and some of the best I've ever had.The prices are super reasonable. Stefa and Katherine served me and my friend. They were friendly, helpful and patient.Really nice to meet the owner, Quillin. I hope she's proud of her much deserved (and hopefully continued) success and contribution to local culture.Great vibe, kind people, cool art, good music, interesting stuff to read... places like this make Richmond the city it is.:)“
“My son and I go there when we visit Richmond. We have the Mixed platters. I like the hot sauce. My son likes the white. Either one you will not be disappointed. The food and service are wonderful. Everything is made to order, fresh, and hot. The atmosphere is low key nice and clean. Thank you Carytown Gyro for a wonderful dining experience everytime.“
“I had the Chicken Tikka and the chicken was perfectly cooked. Juicy, tender and perfect spices. My daughter had the butter chicken. It was excellent as well. We will eat here every time we are in Richmond. Great service!Dietary restrictions: They had a large selection of vegetarian dishes. They also had a lot of poultry and fish dishes.“
“Upon arriving, it’s a small corner building that serves great food. I’m guessing they help out the community from what they say on the sign I got a tray I forget the name of the tray, but it definitely filled me up. It came with a little appetizer entrée, and a dessert Definitely will come back to support the “
“Walk up and order, grab a seat and wait for your number to be called, then pick up at kitchen window. So many different wraps on the menu and great soups. Special of the day and great local beers. Also, a nice bar to sit and eat. Outside covered seating. Any of the wraps can be made as a salad. I have always liked what I've tried here, but my favorite by far is the Shenandoah.“
“After searching high and low for a restaurant that served vegetarian pho with vegetable broth (it's more rare than you would think) we finally found one - and a good one at that! The pho is great! I loved the P1: Pho Dac Biet and my partner really enjoyed P9: Hu Tieu Dau Hu (vegetarian version of the dish). The staff was very nice and attentive, and the restaurant itself was very clean. We will be back again!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian Pho (with vegetable broth) is available and it's great!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free available upon request. The menu also state which dishes contain nuts for those with allergies.“
“The vegan pizza at 8 1/2 is so unique and I absolutely love it. The dough is both soft and crunchy, the broccolini is chopped up making each slice easy to bite into and there's even a little kick! I usually call in for pick up and they make the food quickly. The shop itself is super cute and has a bunch of authentic Italian products for sale!“
“While eating at the restaurant, I noticed I received a different salad than what I ordered online. The new manager (Jassie?) must have noticed the look on my face and asked me what was wrong. I showed her my order online didn't match what I had and she quickly had the correct salad made. Sometimes in restaurants mistakes happen, but noticing them fast and proactively without me having to get up is pretty rare service these days. Salad was fresh and filling.“
“I visited because they popped up on my Upside App. Not only did I get a great deal through that but also I got there app and received a free pizza for joining! Everything was tasty and the employees were friendly. The music was fun too! Wish we lived closer, we are visiting from SC.“
“I went today and I’m a usual costumer there. There was a new employee her name was Alyssa. She was rolling her eyes and arguing with her co-workers. I made the atmosphere very uncomfortable. The employees at VCU &pizza are amazing and always have the best costumer service and make great food. I was disappointed to have that experience with the new employee.“
“The salads are definitely over priced, but worth the money! They fill you up, leaving you ready to plan your next visit! I would suggest if you like heavy dressing to eat it there in the restaurant and not to go. The salad can get soggy! But definitely would recommend this spot for a lunch date or work lunch! Very good!“
“Best Chinese food in Virginia! Also, chicken wings are fire! Beef on a stick is a must. Secret tip, order in when getting food. I swear the food is better when they get to know you. Cheers!Vegetarian options: They are great! Try all of them.“
“If you’re vegan or vegetarian, you’ll love this place. If you're into places with a gritty, college vibe, you’ll love it even more. And if you’re not into any of those, you’ll still like it. My wife and I ordered the tofu wings wings for an appetizer, and they were delicious. Nice and spicy, but not too spicy. I got the Caesar wrap with vegan Mac and cheese for an entre. Both good, but would have benefited from a bit more seasoning, which is why I gave the food four stars instead of five. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.Dietary restrictions: It’s vegan/vegetarian and they list everything that has nuts in it in case you have a nut allergy.“
“My partner is a vegetarian and I prefer to avoid meat where I can, so we're always on the lookout for spots that cater to the veggie crowd more than just having one or two vegetarian options that are lackluster in comparison to the rest of the menu. And this place was absolutely perfect; at no point did we feel like the quality or flavour was sacrificed in the process of making the meal vegetarian or vegan. I got the "chicken" salad sandwich (on a gluten free wrap) with a side of butternut squash soup, and my partner got the Gyro sandwich with a side of potato salad; we were both more than satisfied. The gluten free wrap was also very tasty in its own right and not too dry or crumbly. We're definitely going to be coming back sometime soon, but I'll have to really push myself to try something new instead of getting that amazing chicken salad wrap again; it was just that good.Dietary restrictions: Has gluten free wraps available for the sandwiches in place of the bread; and the wraps are pretty good too!“
