“After this place has been on “RVA Restaurants to Try” list for about 3 years, this was our first time eating at Fat Dragon, but it certainly not be our last! The wonton soup was the best my mother has ever tasted…keep in mind, she’s traveled all over the world. The ginger dressing was so delicious, I asked the server if they sold it in bottles. The garlic chicken and basil beef were both so tender and flavorful, I would highly recommend them both. And last but not least, our server was great! Do not wait to try this place like I did!!!! Go now!“

“I've been happily stopping at Hunan East, nearly every Saturday, to fill up a take-out tray from their buffet, which has many healthful options, with stir-fried meat and vegetables, all cooked just enough. I get enough food for 4 meals, for the price of two, and that's with a tip (just my choice, not expected, and I serve myself).“

“I’m new to the area after moving from Los Angeles and have been exploring local Chinese cuisine. Based on my recent order of the shrimp fried rice and orange chicken combo, I had a very positive experience.

“This restaurant is the best Chinese food I've had in virginia. Family owned and operated for 32 years and the food exemplifies that. Dumplings were a family recipe that tasted amazing and the food itself has its own unique personality and character because of its long standing history. I would come far to have this food again. The only negative was that they were so busy in the kitchen I felt ignored in the dining room at times. I strongly recommend this place because it's different than what you may have had before.“

It wasn't a huge deal (especially the first time - just missing an egg roll) but today we were missing 2 egg rolls. I really don't like to complain but it seems they may be going down hill which I really hate. Please pay attention when packing orders and start checking everything before you leave!“

“This is a pleasant surprise… My wife and I are new to the area (6 Months) and over the past few months we have been in town have been trying places to compare to our classic back home “American style Chinese” favorites. This was a great meal. We called, placed to go, and drove 9 minutes to pick up our “ready in 15” order. When I walked in the man working the counter was bringing that all to familiar brown paper bag from the back. Just our luck it was my order, we had a great quick conversation and I headed on my way. Now, for the food, that’s what matters because after all this is not a sit down style place, so ignore those negative atmosphere reviews…

The order was $52 for crab Rangoon, steamed pork dumplings (real dumps, not someone trying to pass Goyza off as a dumpling!) and 2 warm fresh egg rolls. The mains were General tso’ chicken and a happy family. One order white and one order fried rice. All were a great balance of flavor, meat, vegetables and sauce. We are extremely pleased with the overall experience and I recommend anyone looking for a quick filling meal show this spot some support.

If you want a full sit down with a perfect designed interior and a wait staff, go to Shortpump and pay for it.

“This is my favorite local Chinese food spot. I prefer it to the others around it. My go to meals are the beef and broccoli, chicken wings, or pork fried rice. Really just about anything they fry is really good egg rolls, chicken, scallops, you name it.“

“I love this new spot! Sky gives the most authentic and warm welcome not just to me but to everyone who stop by. He is patient, and recommends all top dishes. I ordered togo, the portion size was HUGE!!!! I got some chicken egg rolls, Singapore noodles, General sauce chicken and pork fried rice. Everything was perfect. From the curry flavor in the noodles and the chicken being moist and juicy, it was all worth it. If you are looking to try a new Chinese spot, give this a try for sure!“

“Living South of the river, I was pleasantly reminded about China Panda via the Sons of China Panda pop up this week. This morning, I got the egg tart, peanut silken tofu and mochi cake. I'm saving the egg tart and mochi cake for an after school treat sampling. The silken tofu that he said his Mom was up making overnight was simple, delicious, and a much more favorable breakfast than the typical simple carb or saturated fat laden fare common in our American diets and reflected in the offerings by local businesses. I think they would do rather well and wish I'd stopped by [on time] for more of their offerings this week. Hopefully, they will return soon! I'll also make a point to stop by China Panda for lunch in the near future.“

“It's a little ugly and I hate the look of their wall of protection. Decent amount of food for the cost. I got the egg drop soup with dumplings. Decent ingredients but they flavor it for white people (I am one). Add some heat! Don't know if you can ask for it spicy or just have to add packets of sauces yourself. I would prefer the first choice. Uncle Roger would have some naughty words to say about the lack of seasoning.“

“This is my favorite Chinese takeout place. I really like that they offer small or large portions of most things. They always see my note requesting to leave out the mushrooms. I also really like that many dishes still come in the white cardboard boxes instead of all plastic containers. We order direct from them and they always deliver in a reasonable time. It's a great place 💖

I do not recommend the peanut noodles though. They are like spaghetti with peanut butter mixed in. Everything else we've tried has been really good. I like the cashew chicken, general tso's tofu, the egg rolls, egg drop soup, and the pork lo mein.“

I was a bit disappointed that the fries were missing from my order. The portion size also felt more like a kid’s meal than a full entrée. “August 8th 2025 That the the happiest Happy family dish I have ever had!!!! I ran in just before closing time. The plastic to go container was jammed packed full of meats and seafood. “I haven't been here sinc the early 2000s when I moved further away. It's just as good as I remember. Pork egg fu Yung was tasty with lots of pork. Shrimp with lobster sauce has a light delicate sauce. Egg roll was tasty. And the food wasn't greasy or too salty. I'll be back sooner.“
