39 Best Chinese Restaurants near Chesterfield

“Wow! This place is amazing. Now for me, when I say amazing in regards to restaurants it is normally always weighted about 75% directly towards the only reason I am there, The Food. This small place has been tucked in beside a Food Lion at a strip mall and slinging rice for over 25 YEARS! But unlike so may other oriental establishments, they have been working on the food and got it right!! But more on that in a minute.

After 25 years, it was finally time for a Make-Over. And I don't mean just replacing the nasty peice of hanging plastic across the counter like they have at banks. Or cleaning the glass on the old washed out colored pictures of the food dishes plastered all over the walls which still leave you wondering if that green stuff is broccoli or a fuzzy catapillar. I'm talking about making a space that is honest to goodness CHILL!

Several super call-outs. The huge matching pictures on the walls immediately start to fill you will a sense of peace and being relaxed. The lighting is not overwhelming but still allows you to see what you're eating. The truly nice touch is that even the design and color of the hanging lamp shades match the color and design of the wall pictures to multiply the atmosphere of the space. Very calming. A new addition to the dining room is the heated buffet table for their lunch crowd. The small mirrors and crushed glass diamond accenting on the buffet table also matches the front service counter. They shared great pride in their long and prosperous cultural heritage along the back wall. Very nice touch while maintaining the gravity of their history.

The Food was amazing! So, full disclosure, I make this statement based on the level of their ability to make the simplest and most fundamental item on their menu. The Fried Rice. Because rice is the foundation of most every dish served, if the fried rice sucks, so does the dish. Why would I care if your Wanton Soup is out of this world if I can't stand your rice. In the case of this restaurant rice pays the bills, not the soup.

The rice was perfect. No hard uncooked grains or dry no-tasting cardboard that no amount of soy sauce could change. They don't normally have bean sprouts in their fried rice but were happy to add them when I asked with no fuss or whinning. So tender that I was actuality able to taste and know I was eating INDIVIDUAL grains of rice and not a bowl of chopped straw or maybe oatmeal. And, everything about my Wife's dish of Sesame Chicken was fantastic. Not a bunch of hard clumps of batter to cover up tiny pieces of chicken.

Great experience. Very kind and attentive server. They were closed for a month or so during the make-over but are now back and open for business. I speak blessings and abundance over them. I invite and challenge you to test my review.

And while you are doing that, ENJOY!

“Love love loveee this new location they always have hot food and have appropriate portion sizes not too much like highland springs, and not always trying to give baby potions because of their customer volume like Chester when they are trying to push people out the door. They also make food at the end of the night unlike Chester and bin air who will tell you they are all out of everything 45mins before closing. I have my best days when Adame, Taniya, and the short older woman are working. It’s always super clean they drop food often and the managers are NEVER scared to step up when their team needs help. Oh yeahhh! And They ALWAYS greet me and treat me nice. I’m not sure the woman’s name I’ll ask next time though. Best new location for sure!“

“Had their fried rice with wings and it was by far one of the best meals I’ve had from a takeout place anywhere. Especially a Chinese one. They also have a lot of extra things on display to buy in the lobby area from stuffed animals to electronics to other countless “

“Best chinese food in the area. Lovely folks who run it. portions are generous and always piping hot. Hot and sour soup is wonderful.“

“Fire place 🔥 fresh hot ready to go...you can't go wrong with whatever you order & they have the best deals bang for your buck with quality good food 🙌

A while back I remember! it wasnt like this but they definitely clean house & did a whole 360! They have wonderful staffs / family in here now...I love them ❤️ keep up the wonderful work“

“I love this place!! I don’t eat Chinese food as much but when I crave it I order from Lucky Garden without hesitation. So far I have tried several different options each time I am surprised and satisfied. Food made to order of course well seasoned, no soy sauce to make it taste better. Clean environment and the owners are friendly.“

“My food is always fresh and prepared how I like it. They follow instructions. When I ask for extra; I can actually see the extra I am paying extra for lol. I like my shrimp fried rice packed with shrimp and it always is. They could use a storage for the items they have in the waiting area but other than that great service, always friendly and upbeat! One of two chinese places I go too and its always my 1st option.“

“The all-day bourbon chicken special ($10.75) is really good. It comes with chicken and fried rice (see photo).

I can't speak for the rest of the menu, but it seems like standard Chinese food fare.

Expect to wait approximately ten minutes if not ordering ahead.“

“Overall, the food was ok. However, I was greatly disappointed in seeing shrimp fried rice in my order when I specifically asked for pork fried rice to go with my boneless spare ribs which were kinda mediocre, but my daughters loved them. Fortunately, they were stingy enough on the shrimp where it did not trigger my seafood allergies and the soy sauce definitely helped the rice. Egg was good because my wife liked it. Other than that, the lady was nice. I just know for future visits IF I decide to return, to make sure I am very specific about what I want. The price and helpings were impressive considering how expensive this current orange administration has made the economy, but I digress.“

“We placed an order for pick up around dinner time. Our order was a cashew chicken, curry chicken, shrimp fried rice, and a pork lo mein. Everything tasted amazing and came out fresh. The portions were very generous and the prices were more than fair. We will definitely be coming back!!“

“I had a Door Dash delivery from Excel and it was wonderful. I had the Bean Curd with Szechuan Sauce and Kung Pao Chicken. Both dishes were great with fresh vegetables cooked to perfection. The sauces on both were flavorable and NOT greasy nor overpowering.“

“If you’re looking for a London style chicken, curry, and special fried rice and some proper chicken bowls and a tub of curry sauce just like in England or Ireland you need to come here if you’re living in Richmond, Virginia it’s identical“

“We have been eating there for 30 plus years and the food is delicious. Great service and the food is served hot . Our favorite place to go. I do like the old atmosphere better. Don't care for the streamline updates. I guess we were used to the other decor. Highly recommended.“

“Fav place, GREAT Chinese food & I’m picky!“

“Very good service very good food I highly recommend them never had any issues great place to eat thanks so much“

“This is my favorite local Chinese food spot. I prefer it to the others around it. My go to meals are the beef and broccoli, chicken wings, or pork fried rice. Really just about anything they fry is really good egg rolls, chicken, scallops, you name it.“

“The only place in the greater Richmond area that give you want you order. Not something like the dish.. not something that is based on the dish.. no something that only looks good but lacks taste.. NO. This place is no gamble..it is great every time.“

“I've been eating here for years and years. Best chicken wings of anywhere. Friendly people, good food, close to home! I couldn't ask for more!

Well, things change including (I think) ownership and/or cooks. I hadn’t been in for several years, so I went in for some comfort food. One of items I got, the egg drop soup, tasted of sesame oil so strongly it was actually unpleasant. I was so disappointed.“

“fried dumplings and shrimp were good, but the roasted duck was very dry and I would not order it again.“

“I just got the lunch special shrimp fried rice, and I must say it was good. Just one complaint - the shrimps were miniatures. I was thinking it was because this was the lunch special. If they offer or put bigger shrimp in the dish this would easily get a 5 rating. Other than that, I gladly recommend!“

“The food was good, but not exceptional. The service was good, order was ready on time and correct. You have to pay thru a plexiglass chute, which is practical and for their safety, it definitely mighr gives off a negative vibe to some people“

“I'm not gonna lie but this is some of the best Chinese food I've eaten in RVA. The shrimp fried rice is fire, Mei Fun 🔥, and the chicken wings are crispy. Smh this my new spot for sure. The food was fresh. Also we ordered the general tso chicken which was amazing 🔥. 10/10 definetly recommend. Also, grab you a iced tea yerppppp thanks for the great food. I'll be back lol“

“This is my second visit and I must say I’m pleased. The service was pleasant, each time I was greeted with a smile and service was fast. My typical order is broccoli with brown sauce and an order of wings. Would definitely recommend and will continue to order from Triple Eight 2💕“

“I've been to, and reviewed dozens of Chinese-shops and found that they all lacked in one area or another, bringing their overall total score to an all-new high with Fu Wah, 5-stars is all I can give for perfect rice, egg-roll (unlike any other restaurant), crab-rangoon (with the cream-cheese portion-size being absolutely top-notch), General Tso's (which is by far the most revealing reason to come-back here)! For the first time, I have not had a headache from dehydration thanks to the excellent quality food-service Fu Wah has provided!Thank you, thank you, and THANK YOU!“

“Crazy how the reviews are so different. I have been getting food from here for years and have never had a bad experience with the food or anything. Food and customer service has always been good for me. Bourbon Chicken and/or Black Pepper Chicken is what I get 80% of the time. Everything else I have tried has been good also. Im 44 years old and this chinese place has been open at that location ever since I can remember as a kid. It would not be open serving food for them many years if it wasnt good food. Im sure some if not alot of these people that has posted that they have had a bad experience and food was probably rude, disrespectful or acting a fool themselves is why they got what they got for food and service. That has got to be the reason for the difference in the reviews is people disrespect and be a fool and expect to be treated with respect.“

“We were staying at LA Quinta (5 mins away) and stopped in for takeout. Reminded me of a mom and pop deli converted into Chinese restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing. Bourbon chicken and broccoli could feed 3 people. Lo mein, fried rice, wonton soup was amazing. I will be getting a to-go box every time I drive north on i95. 6 minutes off the highway. Much Love from South Florida!“

“I have been a loyal customer of this Panda Express for 6+ years now, and they never disappoint. However, today’s visit was something special. The food was great as always, but took an extra 5 minutes to prepare. Noticing my parties wait, Michael stepped up to the plate and provided exceptional hospitality and customer service. I will be returning and I hope to see Michael again!“

“Food was fabulous !! We enjoyed it all !“

“I always come here. I know my food is going to be right, not take too long and delicious! I always get Chicken W/mixed veg and General TSO's. Occasionally I'll do the chicken wings (crispy-- they get me right every time) 10-15 min tops for takeout and short time for delivery as well. The service is always pleasant and welcoming. If it's something I need or want for my order, they always accommodate. Will always continue to go here. Thank you“

“I recently ordered the firat time here and got the scallop meal from How Wah Chinese Restaurant, and while the scallops were absolutely amazing perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I was a bit disappointed that the fries were missing from my order. The portion size also felt more like a kid’s meal than a full entrée. That said, the quality of the scallops really stood out, so I’m willing to give them another try and hope for a better experience next time.“

“I have been eating here for about 15 years and the food is consistently good. The ladies that work here are always very nice and even remember what I always order.“

“The best Thai in the Richmond area!!“

“I knew the moment we walked in that the food was going to be incredible. We ordered a bunch takeout to last us the weekend and the prices were great. Everything we got was delicious but the fried wontons were extra yummy. They were perfectly crispy without being hard. The orange chicken tasted nice and tangy fresh but got even better after a day or 2 in the fridge! Best Chinese takeout I've had in a while. The location was easy to get to off the highway. Plus we got to meet the cutest baby who helped us with our menus! We will be eating here again next time we're in town.“

“My family has been buying takeout (and delivery) from here for years. The food is delicious and plentiful. I love ordering combos to include their delicious egg rolls! I moved across town years ago and refuse to buy Chinese from anywhere else because of the flavor and service I received at Lin’s that I haven’t been able to find anywhere else. Whenever I crave Chinese food, I drive the entire 25 minutes just to eat from Lin’s. If they say 15 minutes, expect it to be ready in 10. Their delivery man is so kind as well, one time as a kid he even went back to the restaurant and then back to the house just to get us extra hot sauce. My go-to order will always be chicken & broccoli combo!“

“They ran out of black pepper chicken, didn't have enough to fill my order, asked if I wanted teriyaki chicken to mix with it,I had a $70 order,I was feeding alot of children,so i had to take the substitution and the staff was nice and polite.“

“Reviews are a bit harsh. I’ve ordered from here 3 times now & it is the closest to New York Chinese food I’ve tried since moving here.
Still on the hunt, but this is the only restaurant I’ll order from, in the meantime.
(Usually get boneless spare ribs with fried rice)“

“I’ve had takeout for many years. They remember me every time. My orders have been served fast, delicious, and fresh. I love the Chicken and Broccoli. Tops in Colonial Heights is my go to restaurant for Asian food. The lady at the front counter taking orders is always pleasant.“

“I love visiting this Panda Express location! Every time I walk through the door, I’m greeted with a smile and great energy. The portion sizes are always generous, and I genuinely appreciate how the employees take the time to engage in real, heartfelt conversations. I can say the same thing about when I order online, I am never lacking utensils or any sauce. I truly enjoy eating at this Panda express location and I just love the employees!“
