“I love this place!! I don’t eat Chinese food as much but when I crave it I order from Lucky Garden without hesitation. So far I have tried several different options each time I am surprised and satisfied. Food made to order of course well seasoned, no soy sauce to make it taste better. Clean environment and the owners are friendly.“

“I had a Door Dash delivery from Excel and it was wonderful. I had the Bean Curd with Szechuan Sauce and Kung Pao Chicken. Both dishes were great with fresh vegetables cooked to perfection. The sauces on both were flavorable and NOT greasy nor overpowering.“

“Everything was hot, fresh, and tasted great! I never leave reviews but the customer before me made me feel it was necessary. A customer came up before me asking for a refund saying her food was cold and didn’t have great flavor. The manager asked to see the food and the customer said she had already finished all of it… I’m sorry but people can really suck haha glad to see she was not given a refund. ?“

“I’ve had takeout for many years. They remember me every time. My orders have been served fast, delicious, and fresh. I love the Chicken and Broccoli. Tops in Colonial Heights is my go to restaurant for Asian food. The lady at the front counter taking orders is always pleasant.“

“All our food was super good. General Tao's, beef sticks, egg rolls and spring rolls. The employees were very nice and even offered me a drink while I waited. Even my kids loved it which is very rare. This will definitely be our go to spot for Chineese food.“

“Overall, the food was ok. However, I was greatly disappointed in seeing shrimp fried rice in my order when I specifically asked for pork fried rice to go with my boneless spare ribs which were kinda mediocre, but my daughters loved them. Fortunately, they were stingy enough on the shrimp where it did not trigger my seafood allergies and the soy sauce definitely helped the rice. Egg was good because my wife liked it. Other than that, the lady was nice. I just know for future visits IF I decide to return, to make sure I am very specific about what I want. The price and helpings were impressive considering how expensive this current orange administration has made the economy, but I digress.“

“As an NYC transplant I NEED some good Chinese food in my life or I will NOT survive. That being said, this is the ONLY Chinese food spot I ever go to. They dont deliver but I would gladly take the 20 minutes to get there get my food and get back home over any other Chinese place around me.

“Fried rice is delicious. Crab Rangoons are amazing too. They load it up with crab meat and not a lot of places do that anymore. I got the garlic chicken which is spicy, but again, not a lot of places make it spicy enough. They did make it spicy! And it was delicious! Definitely coming back and getting more.“

“Wow! This place is amazing. Now for me, when I say amazing in regards to restaurants it is normally always weighted about 75% directly towards the only reason I am there, The Food. This small place has been tucked in beside a Food Lion at a strip mall and slinging rice for over 25 YEARS! But unlike so may other oriental establishments, they have been working on the food and got it right!! But more on that in a minute.

After 25 years, it was finally time for a Make-Over. And I don't mean just replacing the nasty peice of hanging plastic across the counter like they have at banks. Or cleaning the glass on the old washed out colored pictures of the food dishes plastered all over the walls which still leave you wondering if that green stuff is broccoli or a fuzzy catapillar. I'm talking about making a space that is honest to goodness CHILL!

Several super call-outs. The huge matching pictures on the walls immediately start to fill you will a sense of peace and being relaxed. The lighting is not overwhelming but still allows you to see what you're eating. The truly nice touch is that even the design and color of the hanging lamp shades match the color and design of the wall pictures to multiply the atmosphere of the space. Very calming. A new addition to the dining room is the heated buffet table for their lunch crowd. The small mirrors and crushed glass diamond accenting on the buffet table also matches the front service counter. They shared great pride in their long and prosperous cultural heritage along the back wall. Very nice touch while maintaining the gravity of their history.

The Food was amazing! So, full disclosure, I make this statement based on the level of their ability to make the simplest and most fundamental item on their menu. The Fried Rice. Because rice is the foundation of most every dish served, if the fried rice sucks, so does the dish. Why would I care if your Wanton Soup is out of this world if I can't stand your rice. In the case of this restaurant rice pays the bills, not the soup.

The rice was perfect. No hard uncooked grains or dry no-tasting cardboard that no amount of soy sauce could change. They don't normally have bean sprouts in their fried rice but were happy to add them when I asked with no fuss or whinning. So tender that I was actuality able to taste and know I was eating INDIVIDUAL grains of rice and not a bowl of chopped straw or maybe oatmeal. And, everything about my Wife's dish of Sesame Chicken was fantastic. Not a bunch of hard clumps of batter to cover up tiny pieces of chicken.

Great experience. Very kind and attentive server. They were closed for a month or so during the make-over but are now back and open for business. I speak blessings and abundance over them. I invite and challenge you to test my review.

“I normally get wicked cravings occasionally for Chinese-American food, so today I had some General Taos and Pineapple Chicken (I was hungry). The staff are exceptional with their cooking and very polite. The food was so good I didn't think to take a picture before I finished it 😅. I DEFINITELY am returning here!“

“When I say a 10 all around the board regarding this place!! They never disappoint me!! Every dish I’ve tried from here has been amazing. Shrimp and broccoli w/fried rice, shrimp lomein w/shrimp fried rice, shrimp egg rolls, the “ Famous Fried Chicken and onion fried rice and vegetable fried rice, even to the general tos chicken wings.. straight fire!! They are close on every Tuesday but other than that they are one and ready to serve and they are quick with getting your order ready for pickup and even dine in experience. The bathrooms are not nasty as most Chinese restaurants. They typically keep it clean. So yea I definitely recommend them for a Chinese cuisine experience!!“

“I ordered the vegetable chow mei fun. It was kind of dry but i could handle that. My problem was, very little vegetables. I only saw 1 strip of onion, small strips of carrots, and very little baby broccoli florets. I asked for the vegetable mei fun so i would have enough vegetables. I literally had to search for the vegetables. I feel cheated and disappointed. I Don't mean to complain, but i think you should be more conscious of this type thing. I really wanted my vegetables.

Vegetarian options: Provide an adequate amount of vegetables as selected.

Dietary restrictions: Its important for some of us to get our fair share of vegetables as selected. Dietary requirement.“

“Love love loveee this new location they always have hot food and have appropriate portion sizes not too much like highland springs, and not always trying to give baby potions because of their customer volume like Chester when they are trying to push people out the door. They also make food at the end of the night unlike Chester and bin air who will tell you they are all out of everything 45mins before closing. I have my best days when Adame, Taniya, and the short older woman are working. It’s always super clean they drop food often and the managers are NEVER scared to step up when their team needs help. Oh yeahhh! And They ALWAYS greet me and treat me nice. I’m not sure the woman’s name I’ll ask next time though. Best new location for sure!“

“I am a mobile notary and I sometimes have a bit of time on my hands in between signings so I stop here at least once a week and this place has never let me down. I love how when they cook my hunan shrimp, they never over cook the vegetables and the taste is excellent. I love their egg drop soup as well as their egg rolls. My husband loves their shrimp fried rice as well. The manager is always pleasant and the staff are excellent. I find that it’s hard to find good Chinese food but this place never misses the mark at being the BEST!“

“If you're thinking about coming here on Sunday, get ready to throw elbows with the Episcopalians around 1230. I was seated at 1145. I was the only person in the house, but boy, did it fill up fast. Had the luncheon special Kung Pao chicken. Filling and full of flavor. Wasn't that spicy, so be adventurous and try it. Lunch comes with soup or egg roll / steamed or fried rice.“

“This is the epitome of a mom and pop place. There menu is extensive, with items that touch on deep connections through places like Norfolk and NOLA (Yat Gaw Mein). Got the pu pu platter to share recently and it was a hit. The quality has only improved over the past two years.“

When driving through for a work trip, I needed somewhere to stop for lunch. Looked up hibachi places and thought about skipping this one, but give it a shot hoping the food was really good. I was not let down.

Interior is as you’d expect.
Service was frequently and fast.
Did was plenty and plenty good.

All in all, I’d say this is a goldilocks kind of spot - Just Right.
