“We were taken to Carytown Indian Cuisine last night by our kids. We were so impressed with our experience! The food was amazing. I requested a specially prepared curry vegetable dish, and the chef/owner was happy to create it for me. Several of our party enjoyed tikki masala with chicken. We also enjoyed lentils, cooked to perfection and wonderful chocolate lava cake for dessert. The service was impecable. Our waiters were so attentive and responsive, even though it was a very busy night. The ambience was warm and classy. The chef/owner was so gracious and even visited us at our table. I can't wait to return to CIC.”

She had even took time to visit my wedding website so she knew what to expect. I was shocked (in a positive way!) it truly shows just how dedicated they are to their customers. From the taste testing to the day of, we couldn’t have asked for better people to work with! We also received lots of compliments on how well the food tasted!! “My husband and I enjoyed a lovely meal at Grisette from the warm greeting by Andreas to the final sip of French press coffee. Charcuterie selections varied and wonderful. Felt mustards overpowered our cheese selections so that could be passed, depending on your selections. The berry puree fabulous, do not pass on this! On site prepared bread is excellent and another plate delivered with a smile. We enjoyed pork milanese and steak frites, both with delicious flavor, frites done to perfection, pork had wonderful crisp coating and served with a lemon wedge. Milanese needs its lemon, love it. Accompanying petit salad a perfect match with it's vinaigrette. Finally, although not needed, we had to taste the excellent house profiteroles as well as their special dessert of peach with pecan crumb tart. Oh my, what a peach treat to our taste buds. Seasonal so have to get there soon. This was our maiden voyage to Grisette but, happily, our relationship will continue. A lovely bistrot where you can dine comfortably dressed, relax and enjoy a delightful meal.”

“Wow… this place really serves authentic German food! Spent four years with the Army in Heidelberg and grew to love German cuisine. Haven’t been able to find any good German food until I discovered Cafe Rustika. All of their schnitzels are delicious. Highly recommend this place for both the food and atmosphere.”

“On 08/03/2022, my wife and I brought our cousins here to celebrate their 50th anniversary. The food and service was excellent. Our waiter was Sean. HOWEVER, during the reservation process, I was asked at least twice if there was a celebration and if so what type. I indicated on both occasions that it was a anniversary. I just assumed that when I was asked about the occasion that this occasion would somehow be acknowledged. It wasn't. (Happy anniversary). I heard the waiter at the table next to ours wish the celebrants a happy anniversary. Also, based on other reviews on this site, I noticed that a dessert was given to the celebrants as a memento. Not to our party. As I said, the service and food were excellent but missing the little "happy anniversary" left me and my wife feeling a little empty.”

“first I’d like to say the waitress me and my wife had was very friendly and service was exceptional the night shift crew has the best service we’ve ever experienced and they are hilarious our waitress we didn’t catch her name but she was light skin and curvy her and the light skin man with the beard they were picking light fun at the chef and it makes us feel like a place that’s very family oriented and special and a good vibe all around .. but to the point me and my wife ordered a all star and they were absolutely delicious ! Everything we asked for cooked to perfection and quality was amazing we will be continuing to come back here for years to come and showing love to the night shift !!!!!!!”

“So after a quick search in a FB group last night for best croissant and Sub Rosa bakery seemed to be the top suggestion. All the reviews talked about how long people wait in line but figured with weather as bad as it was this morning I'd give it a shot.
Got there at 745 and there was already somebody outside waiting in the pouring rain and then more and more people started getting out of the parked cars to wait for the 8 o'clock opening (figured that's gotta be a good sign)
Have to say all of you that suggested Sub Rosa Bakery weren't wrong. Not sure what those things we were eating before were but they weren't croissants ?
we got plain, almond, chocolate and then based off recommendation of guy behind me in line grabbed a seasonal pastry (squash and pesto) and a cherry pistachio pastry
So far we've only tried the plain and almond and they were delicious, flaky and buttery
Definitely worth getting up a little bit early for and we'll definitely be back”

“I Enjoyed the chicken shawarma. I have never tried one before and it did have different flavors than I normally eat, it was good. It is not a lot of food but a fair size for a sandwich type item. My daughter got the kids 3 p. chicken tenders and that was a large amount of food lots of fries, extra crispy chicken tenders, piping hot. We also tried the chocolate baklava it was good and very sweet, I think I prefer traditional baklava but I am glad I tried it.
I was very surprised they were not busy at all, Wednesday at noon.”

“Floor, tables, counters and kitchen perfectly cleaned. Compare this to burger king and arbys..both no inside customers when I visited but very dirty looked like they had not been cleaned for months.

My food was perfectly seasoned and delivered hot. The counter people appeared happy to help me with a smile. It was affordable and I took half home. I am spending my money where I am appreciated with a spotless place to sit, eat and enjoy TASTY Delicious food..Thank you for a wonderful experience..always. “The waiter didn’t seem too happy.? He was short with us and not welcoming. That really left me not wanting to eat there but my kid wanted pho after a long ride from Virginia Beach. (And people have crappy days.) The pho was okay. Broth was okay. Noodles a little over cooked. They did not skimp on the meat so that was a plus. Ordered chicken pho but got veggie pho and that was okay because my other kid was grounded anyway. Veggie pho would definitely make the list of foods to give your grounded kid. She hated it and was pretty mad. I guess that’s a plus.
We paid. Waited for the receipt to sign and tip but there was nothing. All in all, it wasn’t the worse experience -just awkward.

“We were in town visiting for a conference, and we found the restaurant online. We headed to the restaurant, but when we got there the owner explained that the restaurant had just closed for the evening. He gave us a few recommendations on other places to eat, and we started to search for an Uber. A few minutes later, the owner, Tysean, opened the door and offered to go back in the kitchen and cook something for us. We couldn’t pass that offer up. We waited for a few minutes, and he brought us out some of the best chicken I’ve eaten in a long time along with some, nicely seasoned potato wedges and hot buttery honey biscuits. Along with some honey mustard dipping sauce and sweet tea to wash it all down, we had an amazing meal. I’ll definitely be back, and you should visit if you are in Richmond.”

“Ist time customer- Ordered from DoorDash and I'll definitely order from this restaurant again. The Steamed Pork Bun has a nice flavor and the bun was soft but firm like it should be. The Steamed Veggie Bun was very tasty. The filling for that is like eating the filling of a veg eggroll. Both of the above buns were perfectly steamed! The Pan-Fried Pork Dumplings were my fave- so yummy, juicy, and just a great flavor. I would have liked a variety of sauce options instead of the same dipping sauce for the buns & dumplings to jazz things up a bit, but this was a really nice dining experience. Pretty traditional in terms of the sauce. The site is not allowing me to post pics with this review but the filling was pretty generous in both buns as well as in the dumplings. The Chicken Soup was just ok- it's missing a little something, maybe just needs some seasoning.”

“SO many great flavors to choose from; roasted strawberry will spoil you on regular strawberry ice cream forever! The cannoli ice cream(with mini cannoli shell) was excellent. My daughter always gets a sweet little macaron on top of whatever she chooses. It’s such a great spot to grab a great scoop (or two!) of ice cream.”
