“Went there kind of late in the evening and had fried oysters which were huge and perfectly cooked. They were corn breaded, which we don’t usually get up north. Ann was the sweetest bartender and everyone else was helpful and friendly including other patrons. They even had two hockey games going in the bar and a great music list playing. I might come back to Richmond just to visit again.”

“After many years of hearing only raving positives about Stella's, I finally went and experienced all I'd heard for myself for a birthday lunch celebration. The atmosphere is elegant and pristine while still feeling casual and comfortable. Our server, Gabe, was exceptional: attentive and present, patient, intentional, humorous, and very well-versed in his recommendations for us. Every drink and dish we tried was exquisite in ways my layman's palette can't even identify. The main courses were especially large portions; they would have been well worth the price even at a smaller scale. We give our highest praise and gratitude for a memorable experience!”

“After spending the day in Richmond, my mother and I were kindly accommodated. From the moment we walked in, the service was amazing. All staff members we interacted with were incredibly polite which only further contributed to the classy atmosphere. The restaurant’s theme is nicely aligned with the cuisine— international vibe. We ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken, Pork Bao Buns, Lahmacun, and Steak Frites. All dishes were exceptional. My mother said her cocktail (the Lychee Cosmopolitan) was phenomenal. Considering my mother is not easily impressed, this was a score! Very memorable experience and I highly recommend.”

Eazzy Burger 3204 W Leigh St, Richmond Burgers • $$
3204 W Leigh St, Richmond

“So the burger connoisseur knight in greasy armor is back on the Burger Quest '24 with another adventure, and this one is highly rated by previous articles, usually in the top three. 2023 marked Richmond as burger city... So I got my shield and dagger and voyaged 10 blocks down to Scott's addition to slay burgers and fries. Unfortunately in my upcoming article they won't make top five in the city and here is a summary of why:The place is pretty cool, nice location, nice environment, family friendly, heaters outside, but it kind of has that fraternity feel, maybe it was by chance or the time I came but that may be a pro for you.I got the regular burger and fries to stay true to the burger quest. The burger was good, medium well, good quality beef. The buns were average at best. The fixings were fresh, but the burger didn't hold together like a few of the previous spots I reviewed. Larger pattie may remedy this. Tasted the pattie alone and it felt a bit greasy, but good quality. But as a complete burger I wasn't impressed, not for ten bucks at least. The burger gets a 7/10 because I am always positive and generous. It reminds me of what five guys tastes like after they expanded in 2005ish, but not as good. The fries are the perfect texture and color for my liking, but....there was more salt than potato. I got full from sipping on my drink. 7/10 fries, would be 9 if they omitted the kilo of salt. The service was ten out of ten. Nice employees, they text your phone when order is up, very professional.I havnt finished all 25 burger spots that I planned on going to, but so far the previous articles that have been published has this spot totally overrated. Sorry ZZQ fam, but you focused on locatioion more than your basic burger offering. 4/5 stars because I'm a Generous G. But not top five in the city.”

“I had been meaning to try Detroit Style Pizza Night (every Thursday) for at least a year. Pleased to report it was nothing short of amazing. The artichoke hearts used for the topping appeared to have been fresh (boiled or steamed), not from a can. The sausage was delicious. Calamari seemed to have been prepared to order and was very good, although we had to ask for lemon. My dining partner had the Chicken Parmigiano. She commented the breaded cutlet may have been frozen. We shared the salad that came with her meal. Very crisp and fresh. Bleu cheese dressing was thick and crunchy. My Negroni was too heavy on the sweet vermouth, too light on the gin and Campari. Overall, a good experience. I'd definitely go back, especially for the Detroit Style pizza. Bonus that they've upgraded the decor with stained wainscoting and granite table tops since the last time I was there. The service was a little slow and inattentive. We were there a good while. I had to ask for the check.”

“I absolutely love this restaurant! I have been twice since the new owners took over, and both meals were exceptional. On the first visit I had pizza - it was the BEST vegan pizza I have ever had. And I've tried a lot! Second visit I had the vegan lasagna which was very yummy. I had some leftover, and it was actually even better the next day. I would definitely get this as take out and put in the fridge overnight to gel. Amazing! The fries here are also incredible. Seasoned and super good alone, but also delicious with a side of the spicy vegan mayo to dip in. As vegans, my husband and I are very excited to have this place as an option for dining out, and cannot wait to return and bring our friends.”

It has been a month and our guests are still talking about how incredible the paella was and that they have never been so satisfied with wedding food before. 618 N 1st St, Richmond

“I would give it a 3.5, but will round up to 4. Some things were really quite excellent, other things not so good.Conservas: Had one of the clam dishes and one of the calamari. Clams were fantastic, squid was not for me. The squid was unusual -- it was in a spiced tomato sauce -- so don't want to say that it was "bad", but I'm a pretty adventurous eater and really couldn't stomach it.Mushroom Gnocchi: This was incredibly tasty. But as others have noted, it was about 90% mushrooms and 10% gnocchi. Pretty bizarre, in my opinion. But again, very good tasting.Cheese and crackers: I think it was $19 for cheese and crackers. The cheeses were nice, but the crackers were legit stale basic boxed crackers. Not even the nice Costco crackers. Would have though that for $19 they would have had either house-baked crackers or some other type of nice cracker.Overall, the service and ambience were very nice. The food is quite unusual I think, so this won't be for everyone. But I'm happy that I went and think it's worth checking out (except for the crackers).”

It's the best BBQ I've ever had. I just went back for a second visit while I was in town yesterday. You may have to wait in a long queue, and since everything is first come first served, all possibilities may not be available. But when you get to the front of the line, everything's quick because it's counter-style ordering and they're serving the food right off the smoker. “Great experience. Entertainment is excellent. The food is very good. Drinks are very good. It did take a long time for food to arrive. One suggestion is that the entertainers come all the way down the aisle before making a change in their outfits. If you are sitting against the wall, you can't see what is happening up by the door.”

“We were so excited to hear about this place when it opened up not too long ago, and it has not been disappointment. I can always count on them being friendly when I walk up to the counter, they drinks are reliably good, and there's tons of seating. Owner Olaf manages to greet every person who comes in and he keeps the place spic and span. I can tell he genuinely cares about his customers by how he treats them. It's a perfect spot to study or meet for business and in a great central location. I also like knowing I'm supporting a locally owned small business when I come here! Brick Road Coffee is a home away from home. P.S. The bulk teas they sell in tins are very high quality!”

“It’s like grabbing a bite at your Uncle’s table. Although it may seem like walking into a time capsule, my family was greeted by the friendly owner. And he does everything; cooking, cleaning, running the register, and taking care of customers. It was really impressive and can really appreciate he does it all with a smile. The food is a must-try. Our chicken gyro was delicious with sliced peppers to give it a little kick. The pep-pizza for my son was crispy and made fresh. The fries were crisp and fresh as well. Overall, my family loved the restaurant and will definitely be back to try something new on the menu!”

“Happy Hour!If you are looking for great drinks, and excellent food at affordable prices, during happy hour, this is the place. I think it may be the best happy hour we have found so far. The way the economy is going, and the prices for eating out skyrocketing, this is a great option if you are trying to find a reasonable balance. All the items in the happy hour menu are excellent. And you cannot go wrong with mixed drinks. Additionally, the cocktails are discounted to nine dollars during happy hour, which is the longest that we’ve seen (from 3 PM until 7 PM). It is worth to mention that happy hour prices and menu only apply at the bar and a few tables that are considered the bar section at the entrance. Plenty of parking in the back of the building. The atmosphere is great and it may become a little too busy and loud during rush-hour. But it is totally worth it. Needless to say, this is a review of The happy hour. Outside of it, it may quite pricey.Parking: You can use Publix parking for free.”

“We got the shrimp fried rice, Singaporean style noodles, vegetarian pan fried noodles, and the tofu/bok choy special for Lunar New Year. As you can see we had already started digging into the pan fried noodles before I got the photo, it was that good! The food was all perfectly cooked from the tofu, to the veggies, to the shrimp in the fried rice! And this was probably on one of their busier nights too since it was Lunar New Year, so kudos to them there too! I went here a lot with my parents some years ago and this was my first time back in a while and they absolutely did not disappoint!! Just as good, if not better even, than I remembered!! Everything was fairly priced for the large portions that you get, and we all walked out very full and very happy, with plenty of leftovers!! ?”

The lighting, semi-private dining tables, chandeliers, various bars, and of course the amazing food selections add to its charm and the overall dining experience. Everyone enjoyed our dishes and the drinks were mixed to perfection. At our meal's conclusion the manager, Joe, was kind and patient enough to snap photos for us. 10/, atmosphere, and service!
