“Our lunch is simple, but very well done. My burger was cooked as requested. The brioche bun was toasted wonderfully and I selected my side as a side salad, which was plentiful with beautiful fresh blueberries. Put the star of the lunch was definitely the tarragon chicken salad! Oh, my! Flavors were incredible, and it just had its own umami to it! Highly recommend. I don’t wanna forget we had two cappuccinos that were beautifully prepared and presented with options of whole oat and almond milk.
For only being open a year, they’re doing great and I hope they continue. Richmond definitely needs a nice spot down by the river.“

“Ate and drank here for the first time. The drink ("Sex on a Waffle") was tasty, the waffle with the blueberries and strawberries was delicious. My friends said they enjoyed their food, also. I definitely plan to eat here more often, and bring more friends!“

I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for the amazing job Ron Stallings and The Speakeasy/Hippodrome staff did for my party. The food was DELICIOUS!! Please run to Eggspectation @ Stony Point for your next brunch outing. This place was a 10 out of 10. Everything we had was amazing. Let’s start with the Gooey Goose Bread it was hot, fresh, and the perfect sweetness. Its sweet buttery taste made it hard to stop eating. It kind of reminded me of the Texas Roadhouse rolls but better. I don’t know if it was the bread or their honey butter but it was a similar taste. The outside shell was crunchy but the inside was soft butter bread, and you can definitely it was freshly baked. It sits in a pool this maple buttery sauce that is sooo good. The server said it would be 10-15 minutes but it was definitely worth the he wait.

Next, let’s talk about the Shrimp and Grits. OMG!!! This tastes exactly like Shrimp and Grits supposed to taste. The grits were creamy, cheesy (cheese cooked into the grits), and seasoned. The actual grits were seasoned not just the sauce. And the grits were the perfect consistency for this dish. Not too thick but thick enough because the sauce that comes on shrimp and grits should loosen up the grits a little. The sauce was creamy but not too creamy with the perfect pepper and cajun seasoning. The sausage in the sauce was sliced as thin as a pepperoni, cut into pieces so it was sausage in every bite. The shrimp came with tail off which I prefer. It was layered and the presentation and perfect. You can could tell the cook takes pride in their work. The was one of the best shrimp and grits dishes I’ve had since being back home in the south (Gulf Coast).

We also had the Shrimp and Crab Omelet which was the perfect seafood duo with the perfect blend of seasonings. The egg/stuffing ratio was perfect.

The Orange Juice was freshly squeezed and you could definitely tell. I had a hot Salted Caramel Latte and it was so good, I finished it in like 5 minutes. Not too strong, could taste the salted caramel, and not too hot (that’s how I was able to finish it so quickly).

We went during the week and early afternoon so it was not busy at all. The service was great as the kitchen staff did awesome. So much so that I stopped one of the cooks as the came out to let them know. Shout out to Stanford and his team, they did awesome job with each dish. This place is MUST try. I’ll definitely be back.“
