“It was a rainy Saturday.. Our wait time was about an hr due to it being a party of 11, for some reason it seems like the entire Richmond gets the same idea on rainy days lol. Service was great, atmosphere was good but the food was superb !!!!“
“New favorite breakfast spot on the weekends. Very convenient location for my family to meet up, and no searching for parking.Everything I've eaten or seen there was excellent; omelets, pancakes, perfectly cooked bacon, luxurious French toast to the delicious burgers and sandwiches at lunch. They're very accommodating and welcoming for kids, with a really decent kids' menu.My only gripe is the front atrium is VERY noisy. 3 people in our party mentioned it when we were chatting in the parking lot after our meal, stating they could not hear any of the conversation. If the owner reads this I would highly suggest turning OFF the music in the atrium and adding better sound dampening on the ceiling (looks like they have some black painted canvases up there).“
“Dear city diner. Yes I was just in there just the other with my daughter. So when I seen where I was going I told her that me and Robert were coming here from time to time she was shocked. And I told her when we were living over Southside she said word. Like I said the food is excellent the music keeps you moving as you eating joyful it is. The staff are awesome. So I haven't been in there since I lost my husband a year ago but it brought back beautiful memories for real I really enjoy myself there. I will be coming back soon thanks again Alice Squire ?.Parking: You know every time we've has come there it's always a parking space.“
“Been here many times and have never been disappointed. Highly reccomend the blue moon burger. Was perfectly cooked as well as tasted great with the blue cheese and onions. The service here is fantastic. Love its location on Carry Street and would reccomend to anyone in the area.“
“I want to try the lunch counter again when the timing is right. Menu looks reallly good. Friends love it. I remember the cafe fondly from college days. I go to the Pharmacy for everything from gifts to vaccines and just recently for icepacks to help a friend getting a new shoulder. Everybody in there is so helpful, like the drug and soda counter from my childhood hometown. Don't forget to pick up Hubs or Virginia Diner Peanuts... and I bet you can't resist getting something sweet from the many selections at the old fashioned candy counter. I'll let you know about my eating experience when I get back for that.“
“Went to Shorty's Diner as a surprise for breakfast. My fiancee went before and decided to take me. Right away the customer service was great. The scenery was amazing. I love nostalgia so they had me so all I had to wait on was the food. I ordered the Shorty's Sampler and loved it. It was actually too much so I had to take the rest home for later but I love that!!! Overall I love this place and will definitely be going back!!“
“I can in for breakfast and Jessica was my sever. She was outstanding. That was the best service I think I have ever hadJessica is a asset to Denny's. She could teach some of the other servers you have a few things. She will have to be my server from here forward. “
“Tiny, hip place down from church hill. Booths are a little tight, but that's my only criticism. The food was spot on. Ingredients were fresh and recipes were not over complicated. Each ingredient shined. Look forward to next time and trying more things.“
