Delicious food, great atmosphere, attentive and friendly staff. An easy 10/10
I am struggling to write this review because everything about this experience was so stupid-good that I am at a loss for words.
The service? Stupendous. The food? I literally cried a little bit when it was gone. The vibe? Impeccable. Come as you are, as long as “you are” means you want to enjoy glorious seafood.

I have a few specific dietary restrictions so held off on going to Lillian's but my friend's/colleagues had such good things to say that I had to give it a go. They called me ahead of time, without prompting, to accommodate me and made our experience one of the top 2 in RVA. PJ, Katherine & Chef deserve a 5 star review for all of the extra attention without making it feel like an inconvenience. We'll be back as the food & service were top notch!

Reservations can be made via Resy or by walking in, and the staff is very accommodating to all guests.
The restaurant offers a great happy-hour deal, with up to a dozen oysters for $1 each. Even at full price, the quality and freshness of the oysters are impeccable, served clean on crushed ice with a cucumber mignonette, Crystal hot sauce, and a kombu jam. The service is attentive and conversational, and the staff is kind and accommodating. The sourdough and butter are delicious, and the entrées, such as the mortadella sandwich on fresh focaccia and the soft-shell crab sandwich, are strong but on the expensive side. While the cocktail list has leaned heavily on beer- and tomato-based drinks, there is still a lot to like at Lillian, especially at happy hour.
