“Easily the best BBQ I’ve had in quite some time. The brisket was melt in your mouth and the sauces (I tried all of them) complimented the meat so well. Can’t wait to go back and try the ribs. The table next to us ordered them and said they were top notch. We also had a large group with 6 children under 6 yo and ate in their dining room. Owner and staff took great care of us. “If you live in Richmond and have not been here, you should be kicked out of Richmond. This is one of the best BBQ restaurants in America. The brisket was amazing, the jalapeño cheese stuffed sausage was awesome. The atmosphere and the people were excellent. Everything was awesome. This is one of the top brisket places in the US. “First time visiting Big Whiskey. So I didn't get the servers' or owners' names. But we sat at the bar, and our server was knowledgeable about their drink offerings . The food was excellent, and you could smell and taste the smokey flavor in the meats, which is rare these days. I will definitely return.“
“Had a great family dinner at the HotSpot 757. It was a very diffirent and unique way to spend a special night. The restaurant offers two ways to cook your food. One is using a hot plate to boil soup that you add a variety of different meats, vegetables and dumplings. The type of soup I ordered was Chinese Szechuan. Although it tasted awesome it was really hot. I’ve been eating Szechuan for years and never experienced a hot version like this one. You can also cook raw meat to you choosing on the center piece table grill. I ordered the spicy pork and beef and both were delicious. There is also fresh fruit and different sauces located in the center of the restaurant for you to enjoy.“

“Great service. We happened to find this amazing place to eat when searching for a place near our hotel. The food was amazing. Buffalo tacos w/ fried oysters. It was also happy hour, so we happily ordered a dozen oysters for 1/2 price. The decor is definitely what you'd expect for a barbecue diner. Fun!“
“I’ve been to this place 3 times and got something different each time. The food is impressive! I would describe it as… gourmet bar food?! Even the hot dog I had was ground and cased, in house! They put thought and care into this food so I’d never label it ‘bar food’. Vegan and vegetarian options (my girlfriend loved) and I’m not talking about all the processed boxed stuff. It’s a great, comfortable experience and the people are so friendly!! I highly recommend it!“
“Food delicious, we weren't a pig fan of the pork belly though, was expecting it to be a bit crispy and fat rendered which it wasn't. Good Asian beer, no draught though. They cook for you if you order ayce. There's only one option now. Stay very friendly but not too friendly which I prefer. Some reviews mentioned them being ignored after getting a few rounds of meat cooked but we didn't have that problem at all. They were ready to bring out more once we were 2/3 into the current plate. 20% gratitude included by default in the bill which I have no issues with. Overall me and my friend had a great time here.“

“Oh my god come here. I'm still here and writing a review because it's probably the best place in Virginia I've been to. Probably one of the top BBQ places I've ever been to. All three meats on the Novice BBQ platter are outstanding. Nothing's drenched in sauce, though they have some on the side available but I haven't tried, it's all more than flavorful enough on its own. Sides, red potato salad and baked beans, are also fabulous. And for the price? Incredible value. I tend to be very honest (harsh) in my reviews. I don't give good ones without very good reason. They've just given me five.My only complaint? This night owl wishes for longer hours.“
