“I’ve been wanting to check this place out for awhile. We stopped by this past Friday night to grab dessert on the way home after having dinner in shockoe bottom. Felt welcome as soon as we walked in. I could see this is a spot locals love. I let her know my son only wanted dessert and she didn’t hesitate to recommend Momma Doc’s. He ended up ordering the brownie sundae. Let me tell you, it must’ve been delicious cause he scarfed it down like he hadn’t eaten all night 😂. We will definitely be back. The menu was extensive, and the vibe was chill.“

“I have been a patron of this establishment for over 30 years and in all that time I have never been asked to pay a gratuity fee. I have had birthday parties , baby showers and rehearsal dinner. I realize there was six in my party. Paying by two different checks. The owner whom my kids played with growing up tells me its on the menu that the its up to the server degression to use it or not. You know where it is on the menu???? All the way down at the bottom paste the food items. In smaller print. Sad to say I will no longer be a customer here thanks to the sever Miranda“

“All was great good good and fast service“

“We ate at the Mechanicsville location on our way home from out of state. I always order a chimichanga every time I have Mexican, which is often. I ordered one today with ground beef. When it was brought out to me it looked like a taquito ( a 1/3 of the size). A manager came over and was not happy when I told him that. He said that was their normal size chimi’s. To top it all off when I took my first bite It was shredded beef instead of ground beef. I put do NOT RECOMMEND and do not know what happened and now I cannot change it!!!!!!’“

“This was my first time at Waffle House last week at 1:40 am after my flight came in from Richmond, the breakfast sandwiches were fire and the lady that worked the walk up counter was very sweet.

It was so good I decided to get it at 3pm before my flight home today. The biscuit and gravy was on point. 10/10 I NEED WH in the PNW. Make it happen WAFFLE HOUSE!“

“Absolutely friendly and wonderful staff, great food, and we witnessed a moment of humanity and kindness from a staff member I assume is the manager toward a woman who came in after us that nearly made me cry. The food is great and that’s reason enough to go back, but their mission of community support and visible and heartfelt recognition of the humanity of others in our community will have us going back again and again. “Food was average at best. Out of everything including a cook. Actually closed the kitchen for about 30 minutes because cook was at end of shift and no one there to replace him. They are listed as a Priority Pass discounted restaurant and when asked, they looked at me like I was crazy. No clue.“

This was the best latin food we've had since moving to the East Coast .

“We had an early Christmas Eve dinner at The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing. It was one of the best meals that we have had in Richmond. The atmosphere was delightful, enhanced by the duo playing holiday music; the food was excellent (as usual) but what made this a truly wonderful dining experience was the service. Our server, Trinity, was upbeat, efficient, and most of all really seemed to care if we were having a good meal. Without being intrusive, she checked on us several times to be sure we were doing ok. She is absolutely outstanding!“

“Took my German client to this amazing restaurant and she was blissful! I’ve been many times and try to share this phenomenal dining experience with others whenever possible. High quality ingredients, all dishes are made to order and fresh and hot and delicious, generous portions and the bread is to die for! “First time at Edo’s last night. There was a couple walking up the stairs in front of us as we went in, and when we got to the door, a waitress said “I need that cup” and yanked it out of the woman’s hand as she walked off. She was the same waitress that sat us, but not who took our order. The waitress who took our order was extremely rude almost the entire time. A couple of times she brought food out and put it on our table AS she’s walking by. I stopped her once, to ask if we could have our bread warmed as it was cold. She barely stopped as she said “no.” And continued walking. The waitresses were rude and made me feel so uncomfortable with their terrible attitudes. Atmosphere is a little cramped but it was fine. The food was AMAZING though. It was really hot, and the pasta portions were GENEROUS.“

“Stopped in with my mom around 1 for some drinks and lunch and everything was FANTASTIC. Omar was our server. Super cool dude and a hustler. I got the passion fruit limeade and it was so good i went back for another. My mom loved her watermelon margarita as well. Food was also terrific. I got the steak tacos and she got the mushrooms. Both were cooked perfectly and I was sorta jealous because of how good the mushrooms tasted lol. definitely recommend giving this place a shot. Id come by more often but unfortunately we’re visiting from pittsburgh. Thank you for everything“

“Absolutely fantastic service and food. From oysters, main course, and dessert...the meal was fabulous. I have several food allergies and the chef made a special meal for us on my birthday. Highly recommend! (side note: I dropped my napkin when stepping out to the powder room and the staff promptly had a fresh and folded one waiting upon return). “Today was my first time eating at the Village Cafe, and it was a stunning experience. The Rockfish and Chips were delicious, and I had no complaints about my meal. I also tried the iced tea, which was really good. The seating on the deck had a stunning view, and the waiters were very nice. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the Village Cafe today, and I will definitely be back.“

“The food was very good. We sat at the bar and it seemed difficult to get attention from the staff. I was a little disappointed to be charged $4 for two tablespoons of olive oil to go with the bread, especially as this was not something I was told up front. Every dish is served with so much olive oil, I would have just waited for one to arrive. The trout was cooked absolutely perfectly and the cheesecake was a perfect way to end the meal.“

-To me it's an intimate venue as you are close to the stage.
-They do have a bar on both levels.
-Parking can be tricky. Suggest arriving early to secure a good parking spot around the area.
-Staff is nice every time.“
