Amazing whiting fish sandwich! Excellent customer service and the atmosphere is very peaceful. I ordered around opening on a Saturday morning.

The food was great. The shrimp were large and tasted amazing, the okra was great, so were the hush puppies. All of the fried food was good and fried well. The food came out quick and was made fresh. There were no issues with the staff, they were friendly. The bathroom was relatively clean. The table was a bit small but it was fine.

Overall, great spot to stop for lunch on the road.

The food here is addicting! I make the 35 minute drive here no questions asked because of how good the food is. The crab cake sandwich is sooo good.

The Mac and cheese. It tast like it has onions and some other stuff mixed in in. Its not bad, but not for me.

The bad
The cod fish was awful. I had a fried fish basket and when I broke open the fish it had a old fishy smell to it. It was slightly gray and did not flake well - a clear indication it was old. Covering it with tarter sauce did help much. Honestly I thought about sending it back but I figured the rest of the fish was just as bad. I worked in restaurant for 10 years and served 1000's of lbs of fish in my time. The fish that was served to me should have been in the trash and not on a customers plate.

Not sure I would go back. When seafood is in you name the expectation is the seafood will be awesome. If it were not for that fish I would have a different opinion.

Bubba’s Shrimp Shack brings the coast to Mechanicsville! Their seafood is fresh, flavorful, and just hits the spot when we want something different for dinner. Great staff, great vibes—definitely a family favorite.

For a fast food restaurant this is a made to order style kitchen. The manager even checked on us and made sure EVERYTHING was to our liking. Great hometown feel! Mac and cheese is very good. The flounder and shrimp basket were very good!

We often get the LG fried shrimp basket for dinner. The shrimp are big, flavorful and perfectly cooked. The fries are tasty but it's the baked beans that truly rock. They are the tastiest I've ever had at a restaurant. Recommend

I placed an online order for a fish and shrimp combo. I was supposed to get fish, shrimp, and fries. I received 1 piece of fish with 2 hush puppies, shrimp amd fries. I should've received more fish than this with no hush puppies. This wasn't worth the price that I paid.
