Happened to be in Mechanicsville yesterday with my wife and searched for places to eat. We found this little gem, and what a surprise. The food (pulled pork, brisket, ribs, corn bread, cowboy beans, and potato salad) was delicious. Yes, we tried them all. The staff was great and the atmosphere was very comfortable. It’s a small place that’s big on great food.
We stopped here for lunch before leaving Richmond after a short trip. The staff was friendly and made sure we were cared for and the food was delicious. My husband and I shared a sampler and we loved everything! The roasted sweet potatoes and hush puppies were fantastic too!
My husband and I get takeout here often. We always get a pound of BBQ and sometimes a half of smoked turkey breast and smoked sausage. All are quite good! The BBQ comes with no sauce, so you can choose one of theirs or your own. I wish they had a traditional hot vinegar sauce like in NC. but they do not.They do have several to choose from , including a tomato based hot sauce. We've tried several of their side dishes and found most to be rather ordinary, but not bad. My husband...
