Food is wonderful, service is slow and very impolite. I have tried several times, same thing.

My family was blown away by how good the food was. I got the sizzling tofu dish. Phenomenal. I hit the point where I was full but still eating for the flavor.

Horriable customer service. Tried to call in an order but they didn’t have the time to take it, stayed on hold waiting for 5 minutes. Hung up, showed up to the restaurant and there was 1 table full. Horrible customer services and the lady that answered the phone and at the front desk is rude. Food isn’t worth the wait or hassle. Go to Bell hut!

Undoubtedly the worst Chinese food we’ve ever had. King Po Chicken must have had five stalks of chopped up celery. My husband ordered Cashew Chicken- not a single Cashew! Forget our going back.

Was rudely turned away at the door and told we couldn’t dine in because there was only one waitress. Was also told that if we wanted to wait, it would be 30 minutes. Is this how you treat customers? Wow. You’re not the only Chinese restaurant in town.

As expected, Friday evening around town brings expected wait lists and or busy restaurants around town.
Tonight we arrived to find about 7-8 people patiently waiting in a line for their take out food. My table of 3 by-passed this line wanting to eat in the restaurant. There were 2 tables seated in the restaurant already. The owner/manager turned us away bc she said the waitress could not handle us. Very confused. Everyone picking up was to-go orders. Two small parties already dining inside. What? Seriously?
You turned business away?
We gladly took our business elsewhere.

We have so enjoyed our quiet lunches at Chen’s! We miss the super service, waitstaff is superior! Miss our Sizzling Delicacy Platter. Please let me know when you open again!!

Used to be okay. Covid diminished their staff and they've never recovered. Now they're randomly closed without notice while they continue to take online orders.

Why do people have to nitpick?! I’ve been going here for YEARS. I’ve never had a bad takeout or dine in experience. The food is stellar. The chicken ‘n’ brocoli is legit and the Singapore mei fun is some of the best I’ve had. Tonight’s dine in experience was exceptional. The restaurant was pristine (they keep up with routine maintenance like recovering seats). The food was stellar as always, and the wait staff were so kind and attentive. This whole Google review culture has gone too far. Can’t we just be grateful to have a quality, consistent, Chinese restaurant in our town???

There was one young lady up front doing everything very well.
I got the pork fried rice, and it was good. My husband had the Kung Pao Chicken, and he said it was decent, but it could have been spicier. The fried dumplings were delicious! The decorations were nice.

This was our first time at Chen’s restaurant in Mechanicsville after our unexpected trip to Kid Med. GREAT food, service and atmosphere! Our family will definitely be returning. Thank you!!

We had takeout and the food was delicious. Full of flavor , not greasy , large portions to share and delicious little donuts in the bag for dessert that came on the house. Will definitely go back
