We came for brunch. It was really busy. We got seated right away, but it took a very long time for our food. It seems like the kitchen was struggling to keep up. The cinnamon rolls were good. I got a create your own omelette with spinach, tomatoes and feta, which was pretty good. The potatoes were ok and the biscuit was dense and not great. The waitstaff was nice.
This is my third time at Riverbound Cafe in Mechanicsville. This was my worst experience of the three. The restaurant was very busy on a Sunday morning so I understand things won't be perfect. However, we ordered a salad and a Turkey Ruben. We waited almost 45 minutes after being seated to get our food. The salad was very good. The Ruben was great but the fries were cold and soggy. This indicated the plate sat out for a while before it was brought out which was disappointing....
We use go often but will have to say we have been turned away 2 times as they said they were closing at 2pm on a Sunday.... its just odd as people go after church and we had a party of 6 but the restaurant we went too was more than happy to seat us.....at times the waiting staff seems bombarded and are running hard
