OMG! We have visited a lot of wineries throughout Virginia and have enjoyed most. Above Ground is one that we will absolutely visit again. All of their wines were amazing and the personal attention and family atmosphere was so welcoming that we didn't want to leave. They do it all from harvest to bottle! Matt and Mary Beth, we look forward to our next visit with you!
This is the best winery in the Shenandoah Valley. Every wine is perfect and Matt takes meticulous care of his product, from the soil, to the vine to the table. Absolutely fantastic. If you are close to the Valley and do not stop at Above Ground Winery, you must be 6 feet below already! Great wines. No pretentiousness and no expectations. Just great wines, with Great people, and Great Vibes!!!!
Above Ground Winery is our favorite place to enjoy great wine. The Karma, Pinot Noir, Vintners Select and Little Black Cab are wonderful reds! For the whites, the 2024 Exit Strategy is a beautiful Chardonnay and for something lightly sweet and crisp, the Daydream riesling is amazing. Their wines make great travel companions, but enjoying them at the winery is the best. A great place to hang out with friends and meet new ones.
