Cana Vineyards and Winery of Middleburg

My wife and I returned after several months and were immediately taken with the beautiful facilities. The views of the vineyards and mountains are great. The new Black Oak Cafe is fantastic and the pizza we had was delicious. We met the owner, Lisa, there and she was very welcoming. After sitting down with a tasting flight another employee (Don) met us to discuss the wine club. He has a wealth of knowledge and talked to us at length about their winemaking process. This is one of the best wineries we’ve visited in many years.

Cana Winery in Middleburg, VA is my go-to spot for business meetings — it strikes the perfect balance between professional and relaxed. I really enjoy coming here to connect over a thoughtfully curated charcuterie board paired with their excellent selection of local wines. The beautiful scenery and quiet outdoor space, surrounded by nature, create an inspiring and peaceful backdrop that makes every meeting feel special.

The tasting at this vineyard was well done. My wife and I just didn’t happen to find most of the wines to our liking. So, no marks down because of that. The person leading the tasting was knowledgeable and friendly, which is what you look for. We did talk a lot about port so they ended up giving a sample of the Porta Bella, which we did end up buying. Checking out was a bit of a joke because there were two people involved, issues with their credit card machine, or perhaps with their own system itself. But, anyway, checking out took twice as long as the time at the tasting for our group of three couples, each with purchases. They were also extremely nice to give us a full shipping carton for free (we offered to pay for it), because we had wine from a couple other vineyards we needed to combine to get home. I felt a bit for a couple other of our couples who did very much like the wine and ordered quite a bit shipped home, and yet still were not comped their tasting. That is just common practice at the many many wineries I have visited around the world – if you buy a good bit of wine, your tasting is then free. Not the case here.

I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at Cana Vineyards and Winery of Middleburg, and it was a truly beautiful experience. The venue offers breathtaking views of the Virginia countryside, with rolling hills, vibrant vineyards, and perfect natural light that makes every photo stunning. The ceremony site is surrounded by the natural beauty of the vineyard, with lush greenery, open skies, and scenic vistas that create a stunning backdrop all on their own. The staff was incredibly accommodating and professional, helping the day run smoothly from start to finish. As a wedding photographer, I greatly appreciated the thoughtful layout and flow of the venue. It allowed me to capture everything from intimate moments to sweeping landscape shots. Cana is a dream location for couples who want rustic elegance and unforgettable scenery. Highly recommended!

The property is pretty and lively. But the staff is so rude. I’d avoid this winery. There are plenty good ones to go to.

Cool spot. Where Lizz’s pre-wedding party was held. Food and wine were good.

Love the place and the atmosphere. Had a great bottle of Austrian rose. Only issue is that they didn’t seem staffed enough for a crazy day like Mother’s Day! Also loved the Wayne’s Delicious Eats food truck. I’d recommend more staff to deal with the crowds on a busy day like Mother’s Day

We visited last month for the first time, it was our 44th Anniversary. Don greeted us like we were old friends. We loved the wines and live music, we will be back!!!

I had a great time at Cana Winery! The cozy pavilion was perfect for spending time with family and friends and loved the wine flight selection. The new café is a great addition to the winery and the gelato was a delicious treat. Service was great and everyone working there was very friendly!

BEWARE don't go! Wish I would have read the negative reviews before coming here. Here visiting from Wisconsin and have previously gone to better wineries in the area. This woman in the picture poured me a sample before purchasing a bottle. She poured the wrong wine and then gave it to my friend to drink. Beware of this place is plagued with incompetent staff. 'Don' the tasting room manager was there rang me up when Kristin told us 'two samples per group otherwise everyone would be having free samples all day' even though we only had one minus the wine sample she accidentally poured which isn't what we requested. Don said nothing when I said other wineries have other policies and don't make it seem/insinuate that I'm cheap when I've spent over one hundred dollars here. Go to one of the friendlier wineries in wine country where they don't berate/degrade you for wanting a sample before purchasing bottles of wine. Incompetent staff do better. Refused to give me tap water have to buy bottled water. Wow do they want people getting drunk and driving. Their parking lot needs to be paved/graveled the mud ruined my brand new cole haan shoes. Dirty chairs. Accused me of lying and this is an honest review. WILL NEVER GO AGAIN.

One of my favorite NOVA wineries. I always grab several bottles when I visit and this time I was lucky enough to get my favorite on sale. Staff is friendly and so helpful. Beautiful scenery as well. Can’t wait to see you all again.
