The team at Fields of Athenry Farm Shop & Side Saddle Bistro is among the kindest and most helpful. On multiple occasions, whether I've placed a holiday order online, or simply walked into the shop, they've gone out of their way to assist me in selecting the perfect item for my menu, providing excellent product quality, and the most hospitable service. Visiting the shop is like being welcomed into their personal dining room. I work locally at BCT, and can say, whenever I have a chance to walk into town, this is one of my favorite places to visit, and a great option for a quick lunch too! They have been a wonderful catering partner for our office as well.

My husband and I absolutely love Side Saddle Bistro and the Fields of Athenry meats. Elaine and Bernadette are very kind and accommodating. The shop is a bit far for us to visit consistently as we live on the other side of the county, but luckily for us, we are able to order meats and cheeses galore online which is delivered right to our door every week! We always try to travel to the bistro when they host events and we always leave with big smiles and full bellies. You can taste the different in their meats compared to store-bought and I love supporting a local family business. We recommend Side Saddle to anyone and everyone.

My wife and I visited Elaine's shop the day before this year's Christmas parade. It was the first time my wife and I had been to Middleburg so we didn't know too much about the parade and the town. Elaine could not have been more kind and helpful! She gave us information on parking, the best places to eat and the best shops to visit.The next day, at the parade, we stopped by Elaine's shop and had the most delicious lamb and beef stew that we had ever eaten.My wife and I also met Elaine's daughter and her family, they were also wonderful people! I would say that Elaine is practically the mayor of Middleburg. She truly could not be a nicer person. Thank you Elaine for making our trip fantastic! We will see you next year.

They have the best beef and lamb I've ever tasted. Since they are raised well and grass-fed, they don't cause the digestive issues of other suppliers. Elaine and Bernadette are two of the nicest people and have made suggestions which really helped my diet. I unfortunately moved a couple of states away, but I still make regular trips back to stock up the freezer.

Our experience with Elaine and the Side Saddle Bistro was AMAZING! Our family recently vacationed in Middleburg to surprise my mother for her 75th birthday and Elaine helped us to plan and host the most wonderful birthday dinner to celebrate her.From start to finish, she was an absolute pleasure to work with.Elaine was so communicative and helpful during the party and meal planning, even sending inspiration photos from past events. Side Saddle Bistro had a cozy, casual, charming atmosphere and the food was divine; it was hands-down one of the best meals I've ever eaten! Our family is still talking about the beef wellington and almond cake :). Thank you, Elaine, for such a memorable experience!

Horrid horrid service from the owner, no less!! Here for the Christmas parade from out of town and they had hired a truck serving drinks outside and pouring some of the worst quality wine but no bog deal - we were there for the Christmas parade. Weird system where you get your drink (half of the regular portion), then are led inside to pay who knows what because there were no prices anywhere... No problem, I say -- we're here for the Christmas parade so while inside, I wait in line to pay and while my card is being charged, I dare ask what my glass of wine was and the owner snaps of me saying 'Oh please don't start with me!' I was shocked and didn't think she was talking to to me so I asked again and she simply hands over my card with the answer - $22.50 for 2 mini glasses of cheap wine.. which, again I had no problem paying but how dare I ask what someone was charging my card... pretty much pick a number, any number and that's what you were getting charged.. No prices anywhere and the nasty attitude owner snapping at me out of nowhere simply because I asked how much I was paying while she had my credit card in hand. Horrible attitude and this establishment is out to get innocent people out for a good time. Oh and also, pay and leave because there was a warning on the table - time limit was 30 mins for every guest. All around the opposite of a welcoming experience! Stay away!

Their lamb sausage is incredible. And we've noticed that meatloaf with their ground lamb is much better than when we make out with ground lamb from the grocery store. Excellent customer service and unparalleled products. And it's so nice to support a local grass-fed farm with a female owner.
