A decent resort bar. The cocktails look cool - especially the smoked old fashioned, which they truly smoke. There’s usually lots of room at the bar but you can take the drinks anywhere you want. Staff is also very kind and accommodating. The food is a great, more affordable alternative to the restaurant and not as fancy. I had a turkey and Gruyère sandwich that hit the spot.
We arrived, unknowing to us, that we had booked high tea at the DC location. Matt McKnight at the front desk was very kind and spoke to the team in the Lounge to make sure that we had the same experience, even though it was not high tea time. It was my stepdaughter’s birthday celebration, and they could not have made it anymore special. They even served her grilled cheese in quarter cuts like tea sandwiches! Monika and Sam took care of us in the lounge with Miss Diana, their manager. They made us feel so special, my stepdaughter said she would give six stars if we could!! Thank you for a great day and for treating us so kindly even when the mistake was ours. We will be returning and recommending the lounge to anyone and everyone!
Our dining experience did not live up to the usual high standard at this resort. Food was fine, bartender amazing, but my son’s birthday dinner here was completely ruined. After reminding our waiter twice it’s a birthday celebration meal, he still forgot to put a candle or message on our dessert. And this was after waiting for almost half an hour after the meal is finished to get the dessert served (just a bowl of ice cream), because our server keeps disappearing and we needed help from other waiters to chase him down. Yet he put a mandatory gratuity on the bill. Like the other review said they really need to bring the service level up to the rest of the hotel and restaurants.
Had a lovely lunch of fabulous sushi and great sandwiches. Our waiter Joshua made all the more memorable.
We recently went to Gold Cup wine bar and sat outside for a birthday get together. We have been here many time before but what set this experience apart was our server, Bryce. He went above and beyond to make the evening special for our group, which included kids and the birthday girl. He was very attentive and always had a smile on his face. He even brought out some blankets as it started to cool off in the evening. Thank you for making the experience so memorable!

A lovely woman named Andrea asked my daughter how old she was and when she mentioned her birthday was tomorrow, Andrea included a little scoop of ice cream and a candle with our food! After such a busy day, it was the kindest thing I could imagine and it made my daughter’s night. Thank you so much!!!!

The coffee belongs to a hotel resort. We ordered two types of dessert, like the one in the picture, which tastes okay. And 4 coffees, the total cost is 300 riyals. Their advantage is that they are generous in their sweets. One piece is enough for 3 people.

I'm consistently happy with the food and service here. Occasionally the bar is closed due to special events at the resort so it's worth calling ahead. 4 stars instead of 5 due to our lunch bill exceeding $500 for 4 adults and 3 kids the last time we were there.

Excellent barkeep. Ask for a Martinez cocktail ? on your next visit. ? The Caesar has some extra anchovy kick.

The Salamander itself is extremely nice and the overall ambiance is very cosy and relaxing. Unfortunately the Gold Cup has really gone downhill in the last 2-3 years. Basically the food is now consistently below par, portions are smaller, and service is hit and miss at best. We keep coming back for the ambiance, but honestly it’s just not worth it anymore. I hope they turn it around at some point.

Gold cup wine bar has a descent drink selection. The service is excellent. The bar restaurant has a good ambiance. The quality of food is subpar. It is unfortunate that a such beautiful property has such a mediocre food.

Wonderful service and food!
We had lunch and drinks at the Gold Cup Wine Bar located within the Salamander Resort on a couple of occasions so far during our stay. The restaurant is beautiful, the food is excellent, the service has been hit or miss. Sometimes great & and other times aggravating. The staff here needs to do a better job of making guests of the hotel feel valued.
