The Red Fox Inn & Tavern offers a refined dining experience in a historic setting. The staff is enthusiastic and skilled, providing attentive service. The menu features a variety of well-prepared and presented dishes, catering to diverse dietary needs. Guests have enjoyed a cozy and warm atmosphere, with friendly and professional staff that make every visit special. Many visitors praise the excellent food, from cocktails and starters to desserts, and appreciate the nice vibe at the bar where the bartender, Jason, provides outstanding service. The restaurant is a favorite "special" destination, with a broad selection of drinks and a charming atmosphere in the heart of the quaint town of Middleburg, Virginia.
Recent guests have enjoyed the four-course menu with wine pairing and found the food excellent overall. They appreciated the service, with servers like Maria and Luke making their experience memorable. The seafood and game menu with wine pairing has been highly recommended, especially as a way to celebrate a special occasion. However, some mention that booking early is necessary on weekends due to popularity.
While many love the ambiance and quality of the food, some note that breakfast could use improvement, citing tasteless sandwiches and a lack of condiments like salt, pepper, ketchup, or mayo. Past guests recall a nicer sit-down breakfast experience before COVID, suggesting it could return or be improved with new options and condiments delivered with meals. Despite these minor critiques, the overall experience remains warm, inviting, and perfect for special occasions.
