The Red Fox Inn & Tavern

I had a dinner reservation for tomorrow evening, but my 2 year old woke up feeling sick today. So I called immediately to cancel (it's now 39 hours in advance), but because I wasn't within the 48 hours they charged me $100. So I guess if you have young kids or you ever get sick, you shouldn't bother making a reservation in advance, even for a Tuesday night. Very upsetting. What was supposed to be a celebratory dinner is now $100 less in my pocket.

My husband and I attend a friends wedding at The are Fix Inn and Tavern June 2026. We love historic buildings, this is a beautiful place to stay and fine. We did not stay in Middleburg, just attended the wedding. The grounds for the wedding was lovely, and the venue was on the outside patio with excellent food and drinks. The rooms inside are old and quaint, which we loved. They have rooms inside the Inn and separate buildings outside on the beautiful grounds. It’s a wonderful place to visit and stay. place to

As well room temp controlled in office. Definitely was expecting something much different for the money and I am very surprised how busy and loud the road is starting a 639 a.m great resturants I do not recommend staying at the hotel not restful

My husband and I came here for a lovely dinner to celebrate our anniversary. The ambience in the restaurant was wonderful - very cozy with pleasant lighting and nice decor. The food during our 4-course meal was outstanding - my favorites were the squash blossom appetizer and the strawberry shortcake dessert. Service was polite and attentive without being overbearing. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

This review is for the tavern - which is excellent. Delicious and thoughtful courses. The scallop had the best sear of any scallop I’ve ever had. I really appreciated that the wine menu included many excellent Virginia wines on top of a thoughtful selection of global wines. The restaurant itself is cozy and homey. Will absolutely be back!

This place is a staple in Middleburg and we love it. Whenever we come to Middleburg, we make it a point to eat at The Red Fox Tavern. They serve classic, delicious American food and the service is always terrific. The inn is quaint and beautifully preserved, too.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed their dining experience on Valentine's Day. Fabulous service. Incredible food. Charming location. We can't wait to return hopefully soon.

Looks beautiful online. I am visiting Middleburg for a long weekend specifically to visit wedding venues and was hoping to visit the Red Fox Inn. More than a month in advance, I reached out to their Hospitality team to schedule a tour. I found out they require a meeting before scheduling a tour and I immediately took the the meeting during the work day in order to schedule a tour, only to find out at the end of the meeting that the schedule for when I was visiting was not available yet. Ashley closed the call by saying she’d let me know when the schedule opened up.

After I inquired again on availability two weeks later (three weeks from the trip), the only times they were available during the 3 days I’ll be in town are the two times we’ll be at our appointments at the two other venues. Ashley reached back out to ask us to let her know if we can reschedule with the other venue.

It’s a bummer because the brochures are stunning. Definitely don’t want to strap myself to a venue with such poor logistics & time management.

The rooms, service, and scenery were great. I really liked the bedrooms and the vibe was so peaceful and chill. I could tell that the staff that run the place use a lot of care in making their customers happy. We have stayed here a couple times and always enjoyed it!

The four course dinner we had was excellent. The presentation was very impressive and each of our courses were delicious. My husband's filet was cooked to perfection. The amount of food was more than enough. Our only gripe was the wine pairing. We didn't think it was worth the money. $79 which equates to $20 for each 1/2 pour seemed out of line to us. Otherwise we enjoyed our dinner and appreciated the service, food and ambiance.
