We love this place, never once disappointed and the menu is as fresh and innovative as many of the hot spots in the city. They deserve a Star!

We have been a few times and had great experiences every time. Limited small plate menu but nicely curated. I love trying new things, my husband is a meat and potatoes guy and we both are happy here. The staff is friendly and super knowledgeable especially on the wine list. The gin and tonic is fantastic as is the espresso martini. Also great for lunch.

Excellent wine and small plates. Server was extremely knowledgeable on wine. The food was superb, chef crafted, wonderful presentation. The duck confit was my favorite.

An incredible evening all around; very efficient and bespoke seasonal menu; we tried multiple dishes that were all perfectly sized for sharing (appropriate French sized portions - thank you!); devine wine list, and a friendly, super helpful wine guide on staff; we started with two Champagnes with apps, then an off menu delicious Bourgogne with our entrees; truly top notch, helpful, attentive, but not intrusive, staff at this restaurant; our only criticism, not that it was really problematic, was relatively tight seating (closely aligned tables) that opens your conversation to those around you.

Our group stumbled upon this place during an impromptu family trip, and oh my, what an amazing selection of food and drink. The tuna crudo and hanger steak were outstanding. 10/10 for taste presentation and service.

Best restaurant in the whole area! It’s good quality food, service, and atmosphere.

It’s tough to find in the area a place like this; most others lean towards either trashy or pretentious.

So freaking good. We are massive foodies and on the pickier side when it comes to food, this place is one of the most underrated gems in the DC area. You must try it.

Our group of three friends had an amazing lunch at Tremolo. Beautiful food and lovely wine selection. The beets and yellowfin crudo were fabulous.

The place felt like an insane asylum, all white walls and tables and chairs. No character.
Rushed us due to incoming reservations despite the place being literally empty.
Buratta was decent but no bread or anything with it. The French onion dip was literally sour cream with chips from a bag.

Pass.

The kitchen at Tremolo Bar deserves nothing but praise — 5 stars for creative, flavorful, beautifully executed dishes that could rival any top-tier restaurant. Unfortunately, that brilliance stops cold the moment the plates leave the kitchen. The waitstaff is, without question, the least friendly we’ve ever encountered. No warm greeting, no check-ins, no sign they cared whether we enjoyed our meal — they barely tried at all. Every server and the person at the front looked glum. Service was so indifferent, turning what should have been a stellar dining experience into a frustrating one. Tremolo Bar’s food is outstanding, but until the front of house matches the kitchen’s excellence, the overall experience falls flat. Overall: The rude staff and horrible service are enough to make us never return again.

Visited for the first time today, am sure will be visiting often. Curated and personalized experience with food and with hospitality. These guys know how to take care of you.

Food tasted fresh and flavorful. Labneh had the right consistency, pita was airy and the cucumber salad had delightful spice notes.

We’ve been to this restaurant several times as locals and have always enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, the service has consistently felt off, and this last experience left a particularly bad impression.

We didn’t have a reservation, so we walked in and were greeted by a staff member standing next to what appeared to be the manager or owner, who was on the phone. She kindly offered to check with him about availability. When he got off the call, we were standing directly in front of him, but he didn’t so much as look up or acknowledge us. Instead, he asked his staff what we wanted and, without making eye contact or addressing us directly, said they were fully booked.

We left, but something didn’t sit right. I checked Resy.com immediately after and saw several open time slots within the next 15–30 minutes. I considered going back in to clarify, but at that point my husband and I agreed we weren’t about to dine somewhere that made us feel so unwelcome.

It’s disappointing because the food is good, but hospitality and respect matter just as much, if not more. We had hoped for better, especially as returning customers.

Food, service and friendly staff made for a wonderful lunch. Especially enjoyed our chicken (Thai) salad dish, plus the Labneh dip. Exquisite.

Friends recommended we eat here while in Middleburg. I don’t know why I didn’t expect it to be so good, but I was so pleasantly surprised! Every dish was well thought out. The service and the wine were as exquisite as one could hope for. We only have one more night here and I’m seriously considering returning. Also, do you self a favor and order the pan con tomate!
