I would give a zero if I could. We were the ONLY African Americans in the restaurant and they tried to seat us in the back with no lights on. Needless to say, we left!

Amazing food and service! The atmosphere is cozy, nostalgic and romantic. Parking is convenient and plentiful. The facilities are clean and healthy. Well worth the drive from wherever you are.

Reservations for 2 made for a busy Sat night. We were seated quickly and had great service with our waitress, Cara. We had viewed the web site before arrival, and were disappointed that the wine we had selected, after a good 10 minute discussion, was not in stock. The next disappointment for me was that they don't serve hushpuppies! Go figure- a southern seafood spot that doesn't have hushpuppies! We were seated by one of the gas fireplaces, but it wasn't on. The one across the room was roaring nicely- but ours just had the teeny pilot light teasing us. Well - Those are my top gripes - but everything after that was (meh) pretty nice. Great cocoanut shrimp appetizer- and interesting selection of three toppings - cabbage- sauerkraut/ corn/ and beans. I had the Shrimp Diane, husband had classic crab cakes. Nice side salads and he had fries (not served hot). 'Sweet bread' was offered- still miss my hushpuppies. For the money- I don't think it will become a regular spot. Might give it another try for lunch.

The service was slow, the food was good. The Cole slaw was not good at all. They seated two of us in the middle room full of big tables instead of a booth so the atmosphere was like being in a cafeteria setting. It looks so quaint on the outside but that middle area was like eating in a fast food restaurant. They needed more staff. I'd give it about a 3.5 overall.

This was my wife's favorite restaurant to celebrate any holiday or event. Every year my daughter and I go on on her birthday to honor her memory (died 20 years ago). It has always been sophisticated in atmosphere and the food has been great. The food is still outstanding seafood but the atmosphere has slipped. We were greeted by a gaggle of giggly girls as hostesses. The restaurant was loud, the service was poor, and generally we felt that is no longer had the elegance it had a few years ago. We were not given water on arrival and it took 15 minutes for anyone to come to the table (would have left except for our tradition). Waiter took 30 min to take our order, had to be reminded to bring selection of relishes because he forgot them, and brought salads with the wrong dressing. He was obviously overbooked with tables while other waitstaff seems to have little to do. For dinner with no appetizers or desserts (didn't think there was time), we were there for 2 hours and 15 minutes! As we were finally leaving, we walked past the hostesses station; again 3 young hostesses were there and all were on their phones. Not one looked up, offered a parting thank your or enjoy your evening, or even acknowledged our existence. We both left, commenting on how this did not feel like the old Crab Louie's.

Located in the Historical Villiage of Midlothian, VA and housed in a historical home with fireplaces in a large dining area. Varied fresh seafood menu with good value, especially the early prices between 5:00-6-30 pm daily.m

One of the best seafood restaurants in town. They also have several yummy non-seafood food choices. The different types of bread and small plate complimentary appetizers are a must have. Just thinking about the banana nut bread and the beans/corn appetizer makes me hungry again...and I just had a full meal! Service is awesome. The ambience makes you feel at home.
