Our table of 6 ordered a variety of menu options from pasta, to pizza or veal. The food was decent, but not something I would go back for. Our waitress was kind, and checked on us every so often. We each ordered a cocktail and they either tasted like gasoline or straight sour mix. Their music in the restaurant was incredibly loud Italian opera…and from the sounds of it we’re pretty sure they blew out their speakers with it too. People all around the restaurant were making faces and commenting to each other about the music volume. Overall, I would only consider ordering takeout from them if I was in dire need of a pizza and they were my closest option.

Owner does not how to run a restaurant
The food needs to be time
Manager need one person to handle take out
And the Manager needs dress the food
To keep control temp food and controlling the time the food when comes out
Save from buying the food
And save food waste
And controlling the cost buying food
And through food away
And need a food runner and someone to run the bar and need a busser

Veal saltimboca was good. Not the best I've ever had, but good.
The service... not so much. Small red-headed waitress was super nice but never checked on us. Had to go 2 bar 3 times to get another glass of wine, from same server. Dinner for 2 + tip = $150. I expect better service.

I was very excited to try the pizza from La Cucina, I live out of town and was visiting family, once I got settled i tasted the pizza and the texture was rubbery and undercooked. I called the next day to tell them and the hostess was rude and abrupt with me. Overall, customer service was not a pleasant experience.

Had a lovely dinner with my niece before she heads off to college. My food (la principessa chicken and shrimp) was delicious, as was the broccoli. And the serving was generous-- enough to take half home for another night. My niece always gets, and enjoys, the Alfredo. Having lived in Italy for many years, would I say this was authentic Italian? Mine was close. Hers, not so much. I would have to return to try other options. The service was ok, nothing to write home about. I would have liked if the hostess had spoken to me in Italian, as I spoke to her. Sigh. The atmosphere, meh. Dark. Nothing particularly Italian about it. Wish they had played music in Italian like Andrea Bocelli. I will go back.

The bruschetta was the most notable thing we had, I would go back for that alone. The fried zucchini was good. Their marinara was delicious. The Mediterranean pasta was rather salty. The steak was much larger than expected and cooked perfectly. The scallops were overcooked and tougher than they should be.
There are no frills to the atmosphere, rather pricey wine menu.
I would go back.

So I’m pretty sure this is my first google review ever and that should in itself say a lot about how amazing this place is. I’ve been enjoying this restaurant for at least a decade and have NEVER been disappointed, in fact I have yet to find better food elsewhere. The freshness, the quality, the impeccable service are at a minimum five star worthy. For ten years I have been trying to crack the code on their home made Italian dressing. A must try!

We moved to Powhatan VA which is a food desert in and of itself. We are foodies from Philly SO for the past few months we have searched for a place to eat something other than fast food, of which we don't partake. On a whim we drove 45 min to this strip mall gem. It was Sat. afternoon and the place was nearly empty. The owner greeted us and sat us and the delicious food journey began! Granted it was a panini on focaccia bread and a personal Italiana pizza BUT I felt like I was back home in Philly where fresh ingredients rule and Italian cooking is made with love. I can't understand why the place next door (specializes in wings?) was so busy and this gem was almost deserted but we can't wait to go back to sample dinner and dessert. This is the real deal folks and it is not expensive. Wonderful friendly service, delicious food and understated yet refined atmosphere in a strip mall. Believe me the 45 min each way was worth every mouthful. Did I mention the portions are huge so lunch today!
Dietary restrictions: I read where the chef/owner prepared a meal for a woman who has Celiac disease and MUST eat gluten free.
Parking: It is a strip mall with Kroger as its anchor so plenty of parking
