I don't write many reviews, but felt compelled tonight. The restaurant that served food a year ago is apparently not the same today. My family and I have eaten here for years, but today....The ladies in the front room were friendly and helpful.1) The food was terribly bland. General Tso's Chicken should be spicy and a little sweet. Neither flavor profile was there. It tasted like Soy Sauce only.2) The chicken was overcooked, dry and rubbery.3) I requested an egg for $1 extra and it wasn't seasoned at all. I was able to fix this with a little salt. While I'm giving my honest opinion so that customers don't pay nearly $14 for a meal that I couldn't finish... I hope the restaurant management reads this as constructive criticism to right-the-ship, because I'm not coming back until I read a positive review that is beyond 02/07/2021.

This place is awesome. I used to go here twice a month for lunch since it was close to my job. If you want good Chinese food and a nice place to take a significant other out. This is your place. The prices are reasonable too.

I've been going to this Peking for over 20 years and have enjoyed it in the past. But, it is obvious they changed recipes on some of their dishes and the quality just isn't the same. Tonight we used a Door Dash gift card for pickup, and you could tell they were taking COVID seriously with the precautions they had taken. No indoor dining and the food was waiting at a table at the front door (nobody was allowed inside near the register). We got the pan fried dumplings, hot and sour soup, Mandarin Triple Crown, and Happy Family. The dumplings used to be one of my all time favorite dishes. However, this time the dumpling skin was way too thick, the bottoms of a few of the dumplings were burned, and the dumpling sauce was way too sweet. Very disappointing. The hot and sour soup was very thick, thicker than any I've had at any Chinese restaurant in the past. There was too much sour/vinegar taste and not enough spice. The Mandarin Triple Crown is supposed to have tender pieces of filet mignon, shrimp, and scallops, but the beef didn't taste like beef at all. My wife honestly thought it tasted like lamb and it was extremely chewy. I've had this dish numerous times in the past and never had the beef taste this bad. The Happy Family dish is a combination of multiple meats with veggies, and generally tasted ok. The veggies had a nice bite to them and the meat tasted ok, though the pieces of chicken and pork were too large for a single bite. Unfortunately, I had specially requested this dish spicy, but I'm there wasn't any spice whatsoever. All in all, very disappointing. It pains me to say that we won't be going back. I want to support our local small businesses but this was a huge letdown.

I went here many times before a year ago but had based my review on the old Peking and not the "New Peking." I decided to order some takeout for my family and was sad to say this easily made the bottom of my list for worst Chinese takeout I've ever had. I'm comparing this to finding a random metal wire in my Chinese food from some takeout place in Charlottesville, which still was more edible than this experience's.I ordered the Sizzling Delight and Hunan Chicken. Both were laden with this awful flavor of what I believe is "Five Spice" or in the case of the scallops, simply less than fresh ingredients. I took an unsuspecting and eager first bite of some of the scallops in the Sizzling Delight and was immediately repulsed by a heavy aroma and flavor that I spit it out. I ended up eating a little less than half of each dish to see if the entire dish was like that, not wanting to waste the 28 dollars I had just spent. Sad to say, both dishes featured the revolting flavor.Never, ever coming back.

It’s now been an hour and 25 minutes since I ordered delivery. No answer at the restaurant, as they closed 45 minutes ago. No food, but they certainly took my order and money! They’ve got my phone number, so if they couldn’t make it happen, they at least owe me an explanation (and refund, of course). It was my first time trying New Peking, even though I’ve lived here for decades. I thought I’d get it quickly since I’m only 4 miles away. Everyone raves about the super fast delivery....at this point, even if it shows up, it’s going to be dreadful. I’ll be calling for a FULL REFUND tomorrow...

We are so disappointed! We ordered here to try something new and the food as well as the service was pretty bad. We could barely eat any of it. We ordered steam dumplings they had clearly sat out for most of the day. They were brown, hard, and cracked? Spring rolls were burnt and mushy inside. We called we were offer an apology and a promise the next time we order we’d receive a credit. Next time? With no attempt to correct or remake our food just tells me they can’t because they are fine with serving this kind of food. Um, no! We will not be ordering again! We wasted our money!

We ordered delivery tonight of 3 meals and we were very disappointed. Not only was the food cold and soggy , but they delivered 1 wrong main dish and the 2 egg rolls were so soggy with oil, and completely burnt while disintegrating at the same thing that we didn't eat them . We've ordered from this restaurant many times over the years for our 2 households and the quality of the food has continued to go down but this was the worst meal we've ever had. Only 1 main dish and a soup were edible. We called the restaurant to discuss our disappointing experience and not only did they did not care but in fact argued with us saying the meal was fine. Sad to say we will never go back .

Descent food, especially on Sunday's for brunch. Food use to be excellent but has gone downhill under new management. Good wait staff.

Still the best Chinese cuisine.

Surprisingly good. Better then they were a few years ago. Service was great and food was fantastic.

We ordered a variety of oriental dishes and received a goodly portion for three people. We ordered three different dishes off their evening menu and they were all served hot and tasty had leftover to take home.
