Even for lunch, they use large shrimps, and the dishes are not oily, which is a healthy choice. I love their rice too , it is really delicious. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable, with a good atmosphere. Highly recommended 😎

My husband and I sometimes go for the Sunday buffet which is good, I give the buffet a 4 star. One time I went there for dinner, I order off the menu hawaii 5-0, the pineapple was canned pineapple, not fresh and it had a sour taste and the noodles were stale. Very disappointed. The Peking in Mechanicsville is a 5 star. We eat there alot.

Crispy shrimp was delicious and very spicy. The Happy Family was excellent tender beef and chicken with scallops and shrimp in a very savory sauce and hint of heat.

My wife and I have been long time customers of New Peking, using almost exclusively delivery. Over the past year we have both noticed a decline in the quality, taste and portions. Specifically, the amount of protein -- pork in Twice Cooked Pork (my wife's go to choice) and most proteins --shrimp, scallops, beef-- in the Happy Family (my go choice). It also seems that the recipe has changed, not for the better, in the Happy Family since the change in ownership/management. We would really hate to take our business elsewhere after being such loyal customers for years, but it may come to that if these issues are not addressed. On the plus side, delivery is very impressive. Over time we have gotten to know Matt who is usually our delivery guy. The delivery time is generally unbelievably fast and Matt is friendly, courteous and professional. We hope someone can find and bring back the old recipe and hope that you stop being so stingy with the meat and seafood.

Food was barely edible, overcooked and oddly flavored. Almost an inch of very oily sauce in the container. Simple dishes, Sa-cha chicken and Chicken and Broccoli. Never going back, can’t find decent Chinese in Midlothian!

This was second time we ordered here and most of what we’ve gotten has been good. But we ordered chicken chow mein this time. And we did not get that, which should be a fried noodle dish. Instead we got some kind of cabbage and onion dish - maybe chop suey? We thought they sent the wrong dish, but when I called they said that is what their chow mein is. If they are going to serve something completely different from what chow mein literally means and what most places serve, they should at least make it clear in a description on their menu.
