Old fashioned (as in great) atmosphere and service. Excellent food. We loved the pizza tonite, and have loved the salads, pasta and osso buco. Palermo is our spot for a family dinner, as well as for a romantic tour of Italy, 10 min. away from home

Walked in mid afternoon..this past weekend …place was DEAD. No one at bar.. ordered a drink and no one ever came back. The owner came to bar area and walked away. We did not order food and left. Very strange..

Diego is the most knowledgeable and attentive server! I specifically asked for him to be my server for my birthday dinner and he is the BEST! Food was absolutely phenomenal. Espresso martini was perfection overall couldn’t have asked for a better birthday dinner!
One of *the best* Italian restaurants, or really one of the best restaurants I’ve been to at all. The bread is awesome, the mozzarella sticks are awesome, the pizza is awesome, the pasta is exceptional, and the bacio (?) is to die for.Not only does the quality of the food stand out to me, but also the quality of the service. Best Italian food in RVA. I've lived in Italy, traveled to Boston, NYC, and eaten some really good Italian. This is authentic Italian food...from portions, to the way it's prepared, to the service, and the family is from Sicily. Palermo is a real treasure and rarity. And I promise, if you go on a weekend and it's packed (which it always is), it's worth the wait. ❤️
We usually love Palermo, but tonight the food was a disappointment. Four of us (party of eight) got the scallops in amaretto sauce. The sauce was delicious, but the scallops were not. They were very dry. It's aggravating paying that kind of money for such poor quality.
