Prairie Grain Bread Company

Found this gem after googling local bakeries. I was greeted with an employee holding the door for me as I had a stroller. She and a customer also held the doors for me when I left. I went on a Wednesday and they had freshly baked sourdough bread. Their bread, sandwiches and desserts are all delicious. Very friendly staff and great food - will be back!

I have been buying your spelt bread for 10 years and LOVE it . Yesterday I saw “ Cinnamon Spelt “ bread and decided to try it and it is Awesome, MUCH better than Montanna Gold!!!! DELICIOUS

Go check out your next favorite bakery. The spelt bread is the gold standard for what sandwich bread should taste like. After one try, you won’t be able to go back to anything else you might find at a grocery store. So good, you’ll be willing to drive 100 miles for it! (That’s what I did! 😂 Although shipping is fast, too!) Try the dessert breads. Loved the chocolate cherry and the apple raisin breads!

When I entered I was greeted with a wonderful aroma. I bought two items and both were good: 9 grain bread and chocolate cherry bread (outstanding, actually). Service was friendly; highly recommended!

Everyone there is always so nice. The sandwiches are great, along with the muffins and cold brew coffee as well. Mad at myself for not trying it out sooner. 10/10

A Disappointing Experience I Won’t Soon Forget

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my recent experience at Prairie Grain Bread Company was so off-putting that I felt compelled to share.

From the moment I walked in, the service was nothing short of cold and unwelcoming. The employee who took my order acted as though my presence was an inconvenience. No greeting, no smile—just a curt, impatient tone that made me feel like I was interrupting their day. I tried to brush it off, but the attitude only got worse. When I asked a simple question about the menu, their response was dismissive and borderline rude, as if I should’ve known better than to even ask.

I had half a mind to cancel my order and walk out, but honestly, I was so taken aback by the treatment that I just stood there, stunned. It didn’t even register to leave until after the fact.

Food aside (which ended up being average at best), it’s the service that will stick with me—and not in a good way. There are plenty of places in this city where you’re treated with basic respect and courtesy. Unfortunately, Prairie Grain Bread Company isn’t one of them. I won’t be back.

Came in randomly and wasn’t sure what to expect here. I was warmly welcomed in by a guy I think was the owner, he explained their breads etc. Great service. Bought a few types - they were all quite tasty. The prices for loaves/buns seem quite fair to me (you could do much worse at like a grocery store). Would love to see a baguette added to the offerings.
