Sidecar Cocktail Lounge

This is my new go-to in the Midlothian area! The menu is small, but delicious. They've obviously made a great decision in keeping the options limited so that they can focus on quality.

The star of the sidecar cocktail lounge is the cocktail menu. They focus on both contemporary and classic craft cocktails. There is a small, but high quality, tiki cocktail menu. I'm also pretty sure that they could make any of the classics on request. Tiki is our thing, and I can confirm that the the tiki cocktails are all authentic and high-quality! They have an amazing selection of rums. And they are the meeting location for the local parrot head society!

The restaurant itself is relatively small, which I enjoyed. It has an open floor plan, and is obviously very popular because it filled up early and stayed full. Late. Reservations are highly recommended.

Loved it! Cozy and big enough foe you to feel comfortable. Definitely returning! What a Gem! We spent and average of $40 each for 2 cocktails and an appetizer for each!!! Great prices if you ask me. It was all so good! Totally recommended!

Stopped by the bar just to try some cocktails, since we weren’t hungry and didn’t plan on ordering food. I had originally thought about writing a detailed play-by-play of the evening, but in the end, I just wanted to share my honest impressions.
Overall, we felt unwelcome from the start. Our server never smiled, made eye contact, or offered even a basic greeting when interacting with us. We noticed she was warm, energetic, and attentive with smiles toward other tables, which made the contrast feel particularly noticeable with our group.
We tried to give her the benefit of the doubt at first, but unfortunately, the service remained consistently distant and minimal throughout our visit. For example, every other table received water right away upon being seated, but we were never offered any.
We’re disappointed, especially since I had recommended the place to my friends based on past positive experiences. The whole experience left us feeling really uncomfortable, and honestly, we’ll probably not be returning. We understand that everyone can have an off day, but we wanted to share this feedback in case it helps improve things for others.

This place is Amazing! The service, food and drinks are always good.

Bartender is always less than friendly. Dont look for any cheer from her. Food is great. Drinks are decent.

I love it and can’t wait to return. This will probably be a top stop for me on my happy hour list. I pass it on my way home and it’s only 5 minutes from my house. I love the laid back atmosphere, the decor is very beautiful. There’s a TV behind the bar, but you won’t be getting any sports or news. Just some good vibe pictures/videos that compliment the music and feel of the place. Definitely a nice disconnect and unwind place. The drinks that we ordered were great. I loved the martini and of course follow it with an IPA and you can never forget wrong. There are also great food options on the menu. As I said. I’ll be in here a lot moving forward. They’ll probably start calling me Norm!!! (Cheers reference).

I only rate the food a three just because I didn't eat there, it may be good, but I'm also not a huge alcohol person, so the drinks weren't really my thing either. Great atmosphere and the staff is friendly, we happened to have a part timer, so he wasn't very knowledgeable, but he did go to ask most of our questions.

We had went across the street and had a terrible experience. We went over there and we're immediately seated, immediately getting drinks and menus, they checked on us throughout the meal. They were kind friendly and the food was delicious and fresh. Amazing experience.

Ambiance and service were great. Drinks are fabulous. I tried a few signature rum based drinks and then an espresso martini. That martini was 🔥🤌🏽

The crabcakes were ok. Disclaimer: I am picky about crabcakes. But I try them whenever I see them on the menu. These had quite a bit of filler. Overall, 3/10.

I heard their desserts are great, but I did not get to try them yet.

The drinks are excellent, and the finger food is a great accessory to the small, cozy bar, perfect for a before-dinner sip or an after-dinner unwind. The service is very good and attentive. Food-wise, the shrimp fritters are good, but to me, the fries are amazing. I'm going back to try some more drinks and other dishes, but probably just to get more fries.
