We visited Sushi-O about a week ago for lunch. We were greeted by the friendly hostess and promptly seated. Our waitress arrived , greeting us, then took our drink order. On her return she took our sushi order. The food arrived pretty quickly. The sushi was well constructed and full of flavor. We don't get to the area where Sushi-O is very often, but when we do, we make sure to take the opportunity to visit. This is a great sushi restaurant!

My husband and I have been coming to Sushi-O in Midlothian since they first opened in August 2008, and it’s been one of our absolute favorite restaurants ever since. The food, atmosphere, and service have always been consistently top-notch!
We regularly enjoy their takeout, as well, and the quality is always just as amazing.

Tonight, we visited for dinner and started with Gyoza Pan-Seared Dumplings and Sakura Fried Shrimp appetizers, both beautifully presented and deliciously crisp with just the right balance of flavor and sauce. For entrées, I enjoyed my go-to favorite, the 007 Roll, and my husband loved the Spinach Fried Rice with Chicken and Shrimp, which was cooked perfectly and full of fresh ingredients.

The ambiance is stylish and relaxing, featuring an elegant bar with an extensive wine and cocktail selection and an open sushi bar where guests can watch the chefs craft each roll with precision. Every detail, from the beautiful presentation to the attentive, friendly staff, makes dining here an exceptional experience.

If you’re looking for consistently fresh, flavorful sushi, inventive Asian entrĂ©es, and an inviting atmosphere, Sushi-O Midlothian is the place. After all these years, it remains our favorite date-night spot and hands down, the best sushi around!

First time trying this restaurant. Came in for a quick lunch and I was sort of happy to see that they weren’t busy. Only a handful of tables were taken, which included mine. Ordered a three roll lunch special with a ginger salad. Sadly, I did not like the ginger dressing nor the fact that most of the salad was white iceberg lettuce. I ate as much as I could but that dressing was just weird. Very orangey tasting. I waited patiently for my rolls for over 25 minutes before I had to say goodbye because I had to return to work. I pick sushi for lunch because it’s quick. I’m not quite sure how long the server has been working the job but one would think that if you see the sushi chefs not constructing any sushi, something is wrong. They explained that the printer paper went out during my order so they did not know. I found this to be unacceptable based on the fact that I was literally looking around and everyone could tell that I had no food besides the icky salad. They were kind enough to quickly make my rolls Togo and did not charge me, which was a kind gesture. I would had enjoyed my food better sitting in the restaurant rather than scarfing it down after I returned to work. Rolls were ok. The shrimp tempura roll was different than I’m accustomed to. Filled with crab stick, cucumber, and avocado along with a piece of shrimp. Overall, I wasn’t impressed with this experience and I might hesitate to return or recommend it to others.

Sushi-O has been a stable in my family for years. We normally do take-out but have also come to dine-in many times. While it may be out of the way for many Richmonders, Sushi-O is worth the drive, and my family’s favorite sushi in Richmond.

I went in for lunch and the food was great. The only issue was the weird janky country and religious music. I don think the owners probably know about that. Anyway, its weird. Didn't set the right mood for sushi.

I highly recommend avoiding this place as someone who does not eat pork. I ordered a bowl of miso ramen with no meat and after eating the majority of the bowl, (which was not great) I found ground pork at the bottom. There was no pork even listed as a meat option for the ramen, so I have no idea where it came from. I also ordered an eel and avocado roll and the rice was a little soggy.

Host was extremely rude. I am a doordasher and showed the male host the order name and he said “5-10 minutes”. I then repeated “5-10 minutes?” To confirm I heard correctly and the host was extremely rude and sarcastic. I will never pick up another order from them. I also reported them to doordash. It is unacceptable to have a ten minute wait on a doordash order that is supposed to be ready.
