Toast, New American Gastropub at Winterfield Place

Nice place and good food. Good bar with large bourbon selection. Outside seating, bar and bad area. Can handle large parties. Parking is not the best but nice area.

It was our first time eating at Toast. The food was delicious! We ordered the brussel sprout appetizer, a Thai salad with shrimp, and a brunch plate. Thai chili sauce was a great complement to the shrimp.
Our waitress was wonderful and attentive. She kept our drinks full and kept smiles on our faces!
The only reason this isn't a five-star review is the state of the restrooms. Men's room was dark, dingy, and smelled bad.
Be aware, we were asked if we had a reservation (Saturday lunch), so plan accordingly.
All in all, a great experience and we will return!

The sandwich was greasy and the fries were worse. A bad greasy aftertaste on the meal. Will not return. Nor will two other people at the table.
Someone replied to contact them about the issue. I did but nobody contacted me.

It was our first time going there, and I am glad that we tried it, and now know that we will not return.

Let me start with the food.

The ketchup is mixed with either nutmeg or pumpkin spice. So you end up with red pumpkin pie.

The French toast are drenched in nutmeg! Gross! They are dry.

The chicken pesto panini had no pesto or glaze. We asked for the chicken to be well done, and it came out as boiled chicken!

The roasted turkey avocado was watery guacamole and tasteless.

My gluten-free waffle tasted like medicine. I should have listened to the waitress when she warned me not to order that unless I was allergic to gluten.

The atmosphere was not clean, and the service was not good.

Deal with the ladies in the front who greet your customers. Instead of making us feel welcome, we felt like we were a bother. They had a full-blown conversation in front of us as to where they could seat us with a complete attitude.

No thanks! Never again!

great food relaxing atmosphere

I went in because I saw they had a ton of gluten free options and I loved the variety on their menu. I'm gluten, dairy and soy free. Unfortunately, all their items are fried in soybean oil. I ended up getting a burger with black beans on the side. It was done done perfectly at medium. My wife got the crab and shrimp nachos and she said it was fantastic.

Nothing special. As someone else said some of the foods had a very bad aftertaste (bacon) and super greasy potatoes. Stomach was torn up the following day. The biscuit was good but yeah wouldn’t go back

The food was pretty good ... a few misses like the house made ketchup (kinda tasted like applesauce... maybe add a bit more vinegar or something) and the regular ketchup tasted like the industrial Pocahontas brand we had in school ... but my biggest issue was with my Cuban reuben it had coleslaw, not sauerkraut ... it was still good, I guess, but it was not a reuben ( it was a rachel) .... and the atmosphere was also just ok ... we had 7 full sized people, and we got crammed into a booth with a chair in the aisle the 2 people on the end had to sit at an angle to allow the person at the end room to reach the table ... and because of this, they couldn't even see the people at the other end without craining their necks ... but the waitress was very attentive and helpful, especially when the bar gave us a Gose instead of a Lager ... it wasn't the best birthday dinner, but it wasn't the worst. I am just glad it wasn't mine

Food was poorly seasoned and did not smell fresh, especially Salmon. First and last visit for me! Hash browns tasted hard and old! Eggs came out cold, as well as tasteless biscuit. Very disappointed at the entire meal . Visited with a fairly large group. Wouldn't recommend this place.

Came here to celebrate our engagement with my in laws… HAIR in my meal- sent it back, second plate still had hair!! Showed waitress, she brought a third plate.. what are the odds, hair in the third plate too. There was also hair in my MILs food! For our troubles, she said dessert on the house for the table. Great, so I thought. We ordered desserts for the table. Bill came- only one was taken off. I asked, she said “oh, that’s not what I meant- I meant dessert for you is covered”. We wouldn’t have ordered desserts if they weren’t covered, so we ended up paying much more than we intended. Horrible service, horrible management, and hair in most of the food at the table. Oh, and we still had to pay for my meal and my MILs meal, even though we didn’t eat it and there was hair in it! Will never eat here again.

First time trying this place out and I have to say the food and service were Amazing! I was pleasantly surprised. We did the burgers which were perfect, however difficult to eat because they are so large. Also did the fries with their homemade ketchup and Brussels. The ketchup, in my opinion, is delicious! It’s kind of sweet cinnamon tasting, but yummy. So yummy I talked them into selling me some, so Thank you Toast! ?? We also did Bloody Mary’s which weren’t terrible, but not great either. The atmosphere is alright, kinda dingy and dark but inviting. All in all, great place to eat and I’d definitely go back!
