Great place to play board games and eat! Good food, helpful staff and friendly, casual atmosphere.

This place allows people to come together and truly as the name suggests, unplug. They have 1400 individual titles of games to play and code them by number of players, time it would take to play the game, and the complexity of the game. Whomever is in charge of the beer menu, thumbs up. The staff is SO friendly and accommodating. I'll definitely be back. Local gem for sure.

I had so much fun here!
FOOD I will start by saying I really dislike wraps. But I tried their turkey and cranberry wrap + this may be the only place I will ever consider eating a wrap. It was delightful! Yum.
DRINK thoroughly enjoyed my Legend's Brown Ale
SERVICE fabulous staff who took order promptly and food came out quickly and again was tasty.
GAMES Dear Lord, there's a lot of games. And we had a group of eight and we split ourselves into two groups of four. We chatted with the staff about potential games. We enjoyed both recommendations that we played. They explained the playing of the game to us. + We're there if we needed help. It was great fun and I will absolutely come back!

This place is the best - so glad to have a board game cafe in Richmond run by people who care so much about our community! Perfect for friends or family or date night.

Love the selection of games! Plenty of parking. I only wish they would waive the gaming fee if you order food and drink. I would come a lot more if that was the case.

5 stars all the way! The service staff were super friendly and extremely helpful on our first visit to this gem. The beer was cold and the bit of food we did get was great. Server patiently got us started with game that was pretty awesome. Will definitely be back in the near future!

We love this place! My boyfriend and I are here multiple times a week taking part in all sorts of cool activities they run throughout the week. We are here regularly for their TCG events (Pokemon, Lorcana) and enjoy a date night every once in a while to try their collection of games that is always growing. The food is great, the game selection is massive, and the staff couldn’t be nicer (and so knowledgeable)! They’ll even make game recommendations like a board game sommelier and teach you how to play what you select.

Also, it’s a super inclusive environment that everyone will feel welcome!

My husband and I are avid board game players with a decent collection at home, but we’re always on the hunt for new games to try and Unplugged is our favorite place to find them! When we moved to the area, we found out about Unplugged and it quickly became a staple in our date night routines. From the vast selection of games for two players, the amazing food options (the mozzarella sticks, good lord), and most importantly the incredibly helpful and fun staff, Unplugged has it all. We’ve gotten to try so many games since starting to go here back in April, and one of the best offerings is the staff’s knowledge and willingness to show us how to play without us even having to ask. It’s made learning so much easier, and I have to give a special shout out to Mike and Joel after our last visit when we tried to learn Tapestry and had to stop them probably 10 times to re-explain concepts to us lol. We love Unplugged and are so glad to have this so close to home!

We recently discovered a wonderful evening out for the whole family at Unplugged Games Cafe in Midlothian. Our 4-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and to our delight, so did we.

The cafe boasts an impressive selection of games, far more than we anticipated. The staff were very helpful, patiently explaining rules and making us feel welcome throughout our visit.

One pleasant surprise was the menu. It offered a variety of healthy options that appealed to both adults and children - always a win in my book. The food quality was noticeably good for a game cafe.

The atmosphere struck a nice balance - comfortable enough for families yet with a touch of excitement from all the gaming activity. At $8 per adult for unlimited gameplay (and children 12 and under play for free), it's quite reasonable. In fact, we managed to enjoy a full evening out, including dinner, dessert, and tea, all for under $100.

Our children are eager to return, and we're looking forward to our next visit as well. If you're in the Midlothian area and seeking a unique family activity, Unplugged Games Cafe is well worth considering. It's quickly becoming a favorite spot for our family game nights.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
