People who rate this place a one or two must have come with super high expectations. This place isn't a 5 Star restaurant you see on tv. It's a Taphouse. They're small and have a small staff. They work really hard to keep up with the customers. It's a community. We easily became regulars. The people are great and nice. People are so quick to judge. We Love the music from the live bands, super easy access from the water with plenty of dock space, food is, well, pub like food, and lots of outdoor seating. Nice views of the water. Great place to sit on an Adirondack chair, relax, have a beer, and look out on the lake or listen to the music. Oh, and or catch a game of corn hole. They have their beer and beer from other breweries. They also let you taste before you purchase, so if you don't think it's all that great, you can choose something else.

First $9 for a basic beer and didn't even get a proper pour. Had a burger which was beyond well done and appeared to be pre cooked and then nuked. Bun was cold as it must have just came out of the fridge. Just not good! 0 stars!

I wish I could give this place zero stars... STAY AWAY. I don't even know where to start but I'll try to summarize our nightmarish experience. When we arrived around 6:30pm we were told there would be a wait for food but they did not tell us how long. Our group put in 3 seperate orders when we arrived. After an hour or so, we asked the bartender how long it would be and she said it would still be a while but she agreed to rush one of the younger kids orders. After about 30 minutes, one of the orders was finally ready (around 8pm! - 1.5 hours in!). When we complained that the other orders were taking too long and that we had hungry children with us, the bartender got defensive and said she could "not control the kitchen". Two hours in, we asked the manager where the rest of our food is and he denied that our order was 2 hours late. He proceeded to threaten us when we asked him to comp our order! He said no and offered us a discount, then he said "you really shouldn't be talking to someone like that who is preparing your food". He then made up a story and said we cursed out the bartender, even though we hadn't (we were actually really nice to her even though she was defensive with us). We demanded a refund because he was so aggressive with us (and he basically threatened to spit in our food or worse!). This was the worst service any of us have ever experienced - the manager was rude, he lied, he was defensive and unapologetic. Not sure who hurt him in his life he needs a hug and to work in a different industry...

Walked in for a beer, missing warm inviting staff. The two people I encountered appeared to have their attention elsewhere rather than on the needs of the patrons. Good beer, killer spot and atmosphere, it's a shame, won't take much to change what I'm seeing.

Food is pretty good, but the service was some of the worst I have ever experienced. One of their servers was just the rudest lady I have ever met. Me and my friends came here after renting a boat and we wanted to get some beers and bar food. Definitely not coming back. Sad too. I was really excited for this kind of place.

I live in Lake Anna and I'm sad to say it's going from bad to worse at this restaurant. I brought my family here thinking the kids could play outside before lunch. We ordered corn dog,hotdog and nachos. We waited 30 minutes and checked and essentially the two people at the counter said they'd check, but didn't. I stood there waiting 15 minutes. Then when I asked what was going on the answer was, "we'll we're busy right now". They essentially ignored me. The kids we starving and now we're 45 minutes and no food. I looked around outside and counted 13 customers??? So going there 2 years now and always issues. Last time they ran out of food. My sons a Chef in DC, he says the owners are greedy and won't hire more people. But this place is a nightmare. No more!

The food was mediocre. The Ambience of the patio was perfect. Our issue was the rude wait staff. They were unhelpful and seemed frustrated with the questions we had. Like they couldn't be bothered. We did speak to the "manager " and he said too bad. Even overworked and understaffed is no excuse to be unkind.

I keep seeing lots of poor reviews, but my family and I have always had excellent service and a great time coming to the Taphouse! Honestly, it's our favorite place to go because it's animal friendly and we are pretty obsessed with our German Shepherd pup whom we take everywhere! The staff is ALWAYS super friendly and answers any questions about beers and food. The food is always superb! The Philly steak and cheese eggs rolls are to die for! Always recommend this spot to everyone we know because we love it!!
Came here after hiking and fishing with family. There wasn't room inside to accommodate us. It was in the 40's and all their outdoor tables were out of propane. We asked if they'd light the larger fire pit for us since the table fires and propane heaters were all empty, but they said no. We had 2 grandmothers, 5 kids, and 14 adults eager to order food and drinks. We decided to leave and after we did they lit the fire for another group that had just arrived. Maybe they are racist as another review noted or maybe it was poor timing. For why it's worth noting that our group was mixed, but the group that arrived after us wasn't..

Reading reviews about clearly instances of racism and negative/ dismissive attitudes towards patrons is unacceptable. Every person that comes to your establishment should be met with quality service and equal treatment. Shame on you. Although missing out on the business of a few will not have much impact if we all decide not to frequent establishments that uphold at best poor service and at worse mistreatment of people then we can change things. Please put your money where your morals are.. Hope they will think about making changes but until then not "recommending" them is an understatement. There are many other places where patrons are met with quality customer service, delicious food and tap and most importantly All are welcome!!!

Heard good things from family and friends and went to check it out with a group of friends. As soon as we entered the establishment bar tender provided a horrible service. Bartender was rude and made racist remarks to members of the group, which was very unacceptable. You can feel the servers didn't want to provide service to us from the get go. After being treated this way we decided to just get the food to go and go elsewhere. Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Great place to kick back and enjoy the vast beer selection and the view. Appreciate the knowledgeable staff and outdoor seating. We always plan on just "popping in for a quick beer and pretzel bites" - but always end up staying longer. Just has a great laid back vibe that welcomes you to linger.

Zero stars from me! We had two family groups of 4 each, so we placed two separate orders. It was busy, so we expected to wait. After an hour, one buzzer went off to let us know that one order was ready. When we asked about the second order, they discovered that, somehow, the order had never been sent to the kitchen, even though it had been paid for! And their response? We could either get a refund or have our order put at the end of the line and wait another hour for our food!!! Mistakes happen, but when they do, any establishment that values your business would do whatever they could to make things right. This place obviously does not value its customers so we will NEVER go back!
