Fantastic place to eat and have a lot of fun with good people.

For many years I had heard that tavern on the rail was a great place to eat and somewhat hard to get into. There were eight of us and we sat on the patio where there were plenty of tables. I think our waitress was new to the position and somewhat slow and confused. The food was good but not outstanding. The overall experience was fine but I am not in a rush to go back.

Visited for the first time this weekend. We have passed it several times and kept putting off giving it a try. We wish we have tried it sooner. When we first walked it, we were surprised by the amazing dining room. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. We decided to try the patio and it did not disappoint. I had the prime rib and it was one of the best I have experienced in the area. My other half had the crab cakes and they were delicious. Desserts were out of this world (cheesecake and key lime pie). The service was friendly and we absolutely loved the outdoor space. We are looking forward to returning soon.

Wonderful food. Everything was perfect! Even bought a little decor in the shop❤️ Got the Hummingbird Cake for dessert and it was great!

Melody is AMAZING! She recently catered my outdoor wedding reception of approximately 40 guests. Melody was SO easy to work with; I felt like I had known her my whole life ! She listened to my thoughts and ideas, while offering suggestions of her own. The reception venue was beautifully decorated with touches of romantic vintage decor (candelabras, greenery, silver platters, antique buffet table, etc); which she brought from Tavern On the Rail venue to my venue.

Most of all, the main entrees which included a buffet of chicken parmesan and crab/ flounder casserole was absolutely delicious! Our guests raved about the food, the service and the intimate ambiance of this occasion....!!

This was my first visit in over 2 years and I was very disappointed. The crab in the crab cakes tasted old and there was too much filler. My granddaughter’s hamburger was dripping with grease and she didn’t eat it. The fish my husband ordered had no flavor.

Called to make a reservation for my 27th wedding anniversary. Got there it wasn't on the books. Was seated outside to by my surprise to have to listen to karaoke, the anniversary date ever but rememberable. Have been to the traven in the past. Things have changed. Not sure I will return again. Not a great experience.
