There’s only one place like THIS place and it’s Jake’s Place! Our favorite dining spot on the lake. We’ve traveled all over the world and have higher expectations for food quality. Jake’s Place is consistent 10/10. Highly recommend!
I’ve been in hospitality for 10+ years. I’ve worked in the food industry as well. The responses from management on others reviews is appalling. I’m guessing I’ll receive a negative comment as well. But I have nothing to lose, Jake’s does. And I wasn’t going to write a review. But others have told me I need to do so. I have visited this establishment year round. I am a local. The food has mostly been wonderful. The people are usually wonderful. I find that it is money well spent, usually. We ate dinner here last night. I ordered the salmon with greens and macaroni and cheese. As soon as my plate was placed in front of me I went to turn the cup that the macaroni and cheese was in and it was so hot I burned my hand. So I stirred it up a bit, willing it to cool down while I ate the rest of my food, checking on it periodically. When I was finished it was still hot. Me and my other half talked for a bit and i gave it another try. This macaroni and cheese was still way too hot to eat! The server came over and asked if we wanted anything else. I advised her of what had happened and of how hot this dish was and how dangerous it could be. All she could say was, “yeah”. And took our plates and then brought us the check. I paid and left a tip. I was surprised to see the bill was $78! I decided to get a printed receipt and she didn’t even take the extra charge off for the macaroni and cheese that was so hot I couldn’t even eat it. This was a young server and I did not want to be that rude guest that scars her for life… but there has got to be a legality issue with how hot this dish was. What if it were served to a child? What if an elderly guest was burned badly because they picked it up and didn’t want to drop it so sat it down instead?? This is definitely a law suite waiting to happen. But it won’t happen to me. Jake’s has lost my business for showing no empathy or no concern whatsoever.
Great place right on the water.
Pet friendly, there were 6 pups on the deck.
Food and service were both excellent!

Really nice restaurant right on the lake. The vibes outside are great. Tiki umbrellas and a nice little tiki bar to wait for a table at. The jacked up chicken was very good, and so were the fries. Once the crab dip hit our table, it was gone in less than a minute. The drinks were amazing too. Especially the blueberry crush and key lime pie crush. Overall a great experience and wonderful food.

I had the tuna Panini tonight, it was seared and cooked to perfection. Some of the best views on the lake.

Jake’s Place is my absolute first choice for eating out! The meals are fabulous. The atmosphere for outside seating or inside the restaurant is excellent! The staff is always pleasant and professional, and since I have been going there for the past five years, I have never had anything but a good meal. Can’t wait to go back!!!
Parking: Never a problem for parking when I have been there.

"Dog friendly" unless it is a little overcast, then they close the outdoor seating area. Tried to call ahead of time twice but they don't answer their phones, so we found out only after driving all the way out here. Was excited to show our guests Jake's place but oh well

Great food and atmosphere!
Food was amazing. With a 13-person party all food came out promptly at the same time, hot and delicious. I definitely would recommend it for anyone. The price was also reasonable

Ate here for dinner this evening. We had the crab dip, 1/2 lb of shrimp, side of loaded French fries with ranch, burger and fries. The ranch dressing was delicious and home made! The crab dip was hot, the baguette slices could have been more crispy but were good. This definitely beats Drifters hot crab dip!! Hands down! The steamed peel and eat shrimp dusted with Old Bay and served with homemade cocktail sauce was also delicious! My wife did state her burger was “okay” but that Farmburguesa and Five Guys is still better. Definitely will be returning even though the prices were a bit steep! Would definitely suggest this for a date night as she and I spent about $80 but I suppose that’s the going rate for a couple to eat out even though we didn’t have any drinks, cocktails and only drank water. Definitely ask for lemons as the water needed a little flavoring. Definitely recommended as the waitress and staff were friendly. We ate outside and I noticed and I liked how after each guest, the table was scrubbed down with sanitizing water/brush and wiped down so that every table outside was cleaned and ready for the next customer. Loved seeing the dogs being able to also eat and be paid attention to by the friendly wait staff!
Thought we’d love Jake’s Place but we’re sadly disappointed by the management and the way they handle issues, as well as how they respond to reviews made by customers. Management is rude. Our waitress was so sweet and tried to be accommodating but management wouldn’t let her. Food was below average, frozen and not worth the high prices. Drinks were good. Atmosphere was good. They upcharge for EVERYTHING including tartar sauce with a fish sandwich and ranch with lodes fries. They also charged us extra for a kids side dish which the menu stated ANY side with a kids meal. Won’t be coming back mainly due to how management handled the situation on their Facebook reviews.

Terrible experience over the weekend. We had an issue with one of our entrees and management handled the situation horribly and unprofessionally. We were kind and hoping for some respect back as a paying customer and year round local, but management took no fault. Drinks were good. Food is over priced and frozen. They charge extra for tartar sauce with your fish sandwich and ranch with your loaded fries ? Do not recommend
Good location and atmosphere. Went with a group of about 10. Ordered drinks, apps, kids meals, and entrees. Intended on buying merchandise as well. 1 of the adult entrees was a grouper sandwich. It was the tail of the filet and very thin. It was folded over on itself to look thicker and did not even take up the entire bun. First bite was only bun. Second bite was mostly breading. The sandwich also had about a teaspoon of sauce in the middle of the bun. Showed the waitress and watched her get instruction from management. We were told they were all the same size portion (we had ordered two of these meals) and it would take too long to remake it. We were confused, asked what to do, and were told if we accepted it she would ask about a discount. By the time she came back the meal was cold and the discount was told to be 25%. We refused and asked for it to be taken back and removed from the bill. At that point we were told 25% was the best that could be done or we could talk to the manager. The manager came, was extremely rude, told us they came in prefrozen and portioned. He did take it off the bill.
The bills came out. 1 fish sandwich as charged extra for 1 small cup of tartar sauce. 1 bacon cheese fry was charged for a small sauce cup of ranch. 1 $7.99 kids meal was charged $3.49 for a side of fruit when the waitress told us what sides we could choose from.
Management had a smug look and stare down to us when we left. Extremely rude and unwelcoming.
Go to some local establishments and ask about Jake’s place. You’ll find that mostly only tourists go here for a cool location. Locals will openly tell you about rude management and mediocre/overpriced meals. We should have asked around first, but lesson learned.
Go spend your hard earned money elsewhere. Plenty of fantastic places to get great food and great customer service on the water.
Message to management - You’re in the service industry. If you have someone have a meal they aren’t happy with, there are a few very easy options. Have the kitchen jump to remaking it, offer to take it off the bill, give a free desert, apologize and ask the customer what you can do to fix it. As new locals, you could have earned a lifetime customer very quickly, instead of losing one and letting them share their experience with friends, family, and the internet. Your $21 loss (including profit) on the sandwich becomes much more really quickly by being incompetent and making it something it didn’t need to be.
