Obviously, a rainy Monday is not a busy time at a winery, at least the customer side of it. My wife's plan was to restock our Vidal Blanc. My plan was to enjoy a glass while taking a break from the road. We sat outside under the tent/awning and admired the early fall scenery. I did notice the grapes were all picked & wondered how this year's vintage would turn out. We will have to see . . . on the next trip by.
Just had a fabulous time with Miss Dianne at New Kent Winery. We didn’t know which wines to try first- she recommended the Meritage and Cab Franc. Both were fantastic, so we left with one bottle of each! Looking forward to another trip down to New Kent!
This is a cute spot and definitely recommend stopping here, as long as you understand what you're getting into. The 30bminute guided tasting was fine, but definitely felt rushed and left little time to actually feel like you could taste the wines. The water situation really is laughable. You're not allowed to bring your own water, but they charge you for bottled water. Strange an establishment who's primary function is to sell alcohol. The beers were, I thought,...
