DO NOT EAT HERE based on service. Walked in for late lunch today, was told my clearly marked service dog was not allowed. I informed her ADA allows my service animal access (legitimately trained with a vest).
We sat down and staff member said "owner does not allow dogs inside". We politely told her she was a service dog and she had a vest. Conversation then progressed to "even service dogs" (ADA VIOLATION!). I tried to educate her of what she was allowed to ask. Attitude was given instead and how shed have to call the owner.
We could hear the convo the phone was so loud - owner did not want us there.
We were asked again, what tasks my dog performed (I had already done this when providing her education about what she was allowed to ask freely). I repeated myself and I quote "so not an emotional support dog?" - no. Then told me to not catch an attitude with her. Legally, not allowed to ask me that.... literally with the owner on the phone.
My husband, probably one of the nicest southern men on the planet, said "lets leave this isnt acceptable" - very much discrimination against disabilities.
I will be filing a complaint with BBB and ADA.
I understand completely asking about tasks, perfectly legal. Following up with "not an esa?" is uncalled for as was the gaslighting. Ownership needs to be better informed about legalities and make sure their staff is trained
My service dog the entire time, quiet and you'd never know she was there.

Went here for a late lunch early dinner and was really surprised at how tasty the food was; the herb shrimp appetizer….could’ve probably ordered three of them they were so good. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was absolutely divine. The Mammie Shirley drink was very very tasty.

Gastro is a small, yet inviting establishment. The number of patrons present was not substantial. Our server, Bre, was delightful, and she ensured our needs were met without being overbearing. She demonstrated exceptional skill in crafting sweet beverages. The mermaid water, lemon drop, mango margarita, and strawberry margarita were all excellent choices. The cauliflower bites were enjoyable, offering a pleasant level of spiciness that was not excessive. The spinach artichoke dip was particularly delicious, especially when paired with the fried pita. The fried salmon bites were also quite tasty. We also opted for the wings. While the wings were acceptable, we collectively found them to be slightly too salty, and the lemon pepper or old bay flavors were not discernible. It is suggested that the wings could benefit from some adjustments. In conclusion, this establishment was truly wonderful, and I certainly plan to return to sample additional menu items.

The wait can be long but this place has been excellent for takeout. Full disclosure I’ve only ever ordered the salmon salad and the spinach dip but both are delicious. Could be friendlier but I think the staff are overworked.

I think I went on the wrong day I'm not sure if a cook was even in the building, Hmmm.. I should have know with a name like Gastro, perhaps I should be glad I didn't have a chance to sample the food.
