Hotdog King is always one of our favorite places to take our kids out. It feels family friendly, the service is quick, and my kids love all the decor. Everyone is always kind and it has a small town feel despite being in the middle of Newport News.

What a great place, as advertised if you are craving hot dogs 🌭, Gus's is the place. Wait staff was polite and greeted us promptly. The hot dogs were delicious, onion rings and fries were crispy and done to perfection. If you are in Newport News make sure to stop and get lunch at Gus's !!

I wa traveling, and I just wanted a hot dog. I found The hot dog king restaurant, and im glad that I stopped here.
First, the service that I was given from Mrs. Starvoula was first class. She was very kind and pleasant. She was very personal, I asked her where she was from, and it started a long continuous conversation.
The hot dogs were the best I've tasted. I added some chillie sourkraut on my dogs. I also oeder a buger.

If I ever visit anywhere near this restaurant, I will make sure that I make the effort to drive to support this hospitable restaurant.
I tried to go home with Mrs. Starvoula, my wife told her, told her how much trouble I get in.

Grossssss and outdated. The women that work here have an attitude so prepare for that. I was pregnant and asking very kindly simple questions and was asked if I could read the walls. Sorry for the pregnancy brain but maybe just answer when people ask a direct question instead of being a smart ass. Other than that the food is basic canned food and crappy hot dogs. Read the walls before asking any questions, trust me. Also do yall know basic cleaning habbits or no?

This is the only hot dog place I will ever go to. Their hot dogs are delicious with the choice of many toppings, their fries are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and the atmosphere is so welcoming and kind, the picture of Southern Hospitality. When you come here you're family, you get your belly full of delicious food for a good price and you leave with a smile.

Im 50 yrs old. I ate here once a week until i was in my early 20’s. A few months back i took my wife for the first time. Now we eat here at least once a week. The staff is amazing and the food is just how i remember it being.

1st time coming here. Very retro and family friendly. Order for pick up and staff was very friendly. Items were box up amazingly and everything tasted great.
