Deja served me. I don’t think it was her real job there. She is in management, yet still exuded extreme professionalism. I was in retail management for 40 years. I wish I could offer her a job. I am sure she will have the potential to exceed any challenges. Do not underestimate her leadership ability.

Absolutely the worst dining experience I’ve had in years. After traveling across the country with my little ones and stopping at countless diners along the way, this IHOP in Virginia was by far the worst stop. This was our first time back in Virginia in three years, and I was looking forward to a nice meal with my family but we were completely disappointed.
We waited over an hour to be served, and there were maybe three other tables in the entire restaurant. My mom was given three dirty mugs before finally getting a clean one for her coffee one had cheese inside, and the others had lipstick stains. When we pointed this out, the server actually caught an attitude, as if we were the problem.
Even worse, she was rude to my young child, who was so excited to place his own order. His excitement quickly turned to disappointment because of how she spoke to him. The restaurant was also extremely hot the AC clearly wasn’t working and to top it all off, there was a dead bug on the floor near our table.
After all that waiting, we learned they were out of bacon, mushrooms, and mozzarella sticks. At that point, we just left and went elsewhere. I’ve never walked out of an IHOP before, but this location left us with no choice. We will never return.

This place is a joke. I’ve been an ihop customer most all of my life and have never experienced one with such bad service. We waited 18 minutes without seeing a server so we walked out. Also the children’s high chairs looked like they hadn’t been washed in a long time.

Horrible service took forever to get our food out and it was mostly messed up got a stack of five pancakes and they gave me 2 and on the bill the proceeded to add an order of pancakes that we did not get would not recommend going there with your family

It is with a heavy heart that I share this news; OLD FAITHFUL IS DEAD!
While on my final visit, so many things went wrong. Let’s start with the service, shall we? Well, it was literally touch and go, mainly go! It was so terrible!!! Our waitress brought our food out in 20-30 min intervals, and one person in our party NEVER GOT HER FOOD! After an hour, we were completely over it. Now, we’ll move on to the food, my level of disgust will prevent my return! Shame on the cook staff. The environment was full of confusion, management must have vacated the premises. No organization, people were standing around with empty tables in front of them. My advice? Skip it…
Our server was a terrible human! Rude and inconsiderate! However the manger at the restaurant was the sweetest man I had ever ment! He made sure we felt heard and helped us with our problems! I understand it was a very busy Saturday morning it being a holiday weekend so I understand the slower service and the cold food. Im not even mad about that. Our server was just incredible rude and made it feel like we were the worst thing to happen to her all day. I didn't end up with a bill so I cant call her out by name but I can tell you if I ever go back into that restaurant I will be making sure to be nowhere near that woman!

Newport VA IHOP. They seemed to be unorganized. We were seated. Then it took a while for our server to come. There were 5 of us, so we had two tables. The air handler was working overtime, so the condensation was dripping between tables. We were seated near the hostess station, so we saw maybe 5 different girls seating people and no one taking orders. When our server did come, she seemed nervous, like she was new. I wanted to tell her to breathe, and it would be OK. She was trying really hard. Our food was ok. Nothing to write home to mom about, but about average for IHOP.

My family went here to dine but we only stayed for 5 mins because the place was filthy. There was a spit on the waiting couch, there are paper towels on the floor, the door has a lot of marks and was not obviously being wiped. So after 5 minutes of standing and no one is approaching us to be seated we left. I feel that if they cannot keep their surroundings clean from the outside then how much more inside the kitchen?
