The room is a bit dated and worn. Air conditioning in the room struggled to keep the room cool (very weak fan pressure and a hissing that suggested the unit was dead). I was assigned a second floor room that sat above a backup generator outside, and awkwardly across from a row of townhomes across a driveway. Upon entry, I was greeted by a giant toenail clipping on the floor in front of the sofa, which featured the usual accompaniment of stains and wear (Hyatt wised up years ago by opting for vinyl sofas in many of their extended stay hotels). The temperature in the hallways, lobby and fitness room was unacceptably hot, even though temperatures outside were only in the 80s. Also, the fluorescent lights in the fitness room had a bunch of dead roaches in them. I opted for a $10 food credit as my welcome gift but was unable to use it; the Bistro never appeared to be open for business. The most redeeming quality was the staff: they were friendly and helpful.
We had the King Suite and the bed was very comfortable. The bedroom was big and so was the living room area. There is only one bathroom so our daughtet had to use the one in our room. Although the pull out couch was okay she preffered the roll away bed that they provided when asked. When you walk into your room there is a switch by the door that you must turn on to turn the bathroom lights on and off in the bathroom. The bathroom was a nice size with good lighting. The floor can be a little slippery when wet. It may have been the type of tile. The pool area was very nice and enjoyed. The lobby area is a nice size. Oh although you cant tell the King Suite door closes and locks. The staff was very friendly all the time. When ever we needed anything they were there to assist. Overall I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Besides the one bathroom in the suite I would give 10 because of the confort. If continental breakfast was availablenit would have been 12
Paid for the upgraded and it was aweful. After a long day solid steady internet can be a needed, yet this enhanced internet was full of stutters. Because of this i would stay here again with all the other options near by. Staff was friendly and professional. Place was a bit out dated and used
Three night stay on a solo business trip. Its a courtyard so its basic and no frills. Clean quiet hotel and comfortable bed in a functional room. First time at this courtyard and it was a good experience with one issue. No room service when I requested it. Heating system was quiet that I didn't turn it off at night. Gym was basic and pool was warm. Close to restaurants. Its on my list to stay when I return to the area
We spent 8 days at this Marriott property, and enjoyed the quiet and clean property. Front desk staff are very prompt, courteous and professional. House keeping does a good job on their every other day visit. Bartender, Starbucks crew, and chef are friendly and provide excellent customer service. Fitness center was clean and all treadmills and bikes worked well. Free weights were well maintained. Towels and sanitizing wipes were on-hand. When we checked out we left behind a pair of eyeglasses, and after a quick text, the hotel located and returned them. Great stay from check in to check out.
I've stayed at this property several times and my experience has always been favorable. The staff has always been friendly and attentive. Katrina checked me in upon arrival and was very professional. The public areas and elevators are clean. Whenever I have requested additional towels, a blanket or needed a light bulb replaced, or required any assistance, the guest services staff are always helpful and accommodating. My room was clean, comfortable beds. Mini fridge and microwave. Maxine and Rebecca were very pleasant and did a great job cleaning my room. This property is conveniently located off of Jefferson Ave. There are many shops, restaurants and a Wal-Mart nearby. I'll definitely stay here again in the future.
Hotel supports fraud. I had a notification a reservation was made under my name using my Marriott rewards points. I immediately contacted the hotel and informed the hotel I did not authorize the reservation and that I did not know the guest who was checking in to the room. The hotel told me they would ensure my points were not redeemed and I would not be charged. This was over a month ago. The hotel gladly took the reservation, checked in the guest under a fraudulent reservation, and has yet to refund my rewards points. Don't support a hotel that thinks this is an appropriate business practice.
The Room: Spacious, clean, however we did locate a dead bug under the sheets. Amenities: Pool area felt like a sauna (no ventilation), pool water warm and unclean. Jacuzzi drained, no safety barriers.
Excellent food and great service. Very friendly and accommodating. Chef had Sausage Gravy for me the next after hearing me talk about it and it was the best I have ever had. Vivian was awesome as well with getting us everything we needed and was so friendly.
We have been going to this property for over a decade of traveling to the Newport News area and it's a lovely property with nice rooms and a friendly staff. Lots of eating options close by. One of the best!

I stood here this past Oct 2021 and my room was cleaned. The jacuzzi in the pool wasn't working but the staff turned on the outdoor fireplace. We like it so much that we can back on Black Friday and got a suite. The Suite was very roomy. I just wish they had dish detergent and utensils. I definitely would stay here again.
Im on day four of a five day stay in Newport News to work and to help my son find an apartment nearby. I have been blown away by everything about this hotel. My only critique is they are a bit understaffed to have the Breakfast person available every day. I have a two Queen Suite overlooking the parking lot and the room is comfortable, great temperature and everything I need. The staff is what makes this hotel great. Every single person I have run into day or night has been awesome. Everyone at the front desk is great, the Manager hs been awesome, the bartender has been lovely and chatty, I even needed maintenance one day and he came quickly and solved the problem quickly. So glad we chose the Courtyard, it has been fantastic. It is also perfectly located Between Hampton and Williamsburg to search the entire area for things to do and live.
Not actually a dealership
The staff was really nice the food was ok it wasn't the best food.
This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. The price is reasonable and staff is friendly. The place is clean. The area surrounding the hotel is great as well, plenty of shopping and restaurants. They have pool and the outdoor area is really nice. Would definitely stay again.
