Apelu Island Cafe

I've visted this place multiple times. They kindly greet everyone that walks in, it's very welcoming. The atmosphere is inviting and looks like a great place to just hang out. Their coffee and baked goods are delicious. My absolute favorite thing about this coffee shop, is that the drinks are consistent! They taste the same every time, I love love love that! So good!

I've come back to add to my review a year later. This place is still the best. Although, it's Saturday morning and I had too much fun last night. I have no intentions of leaving this bed. All I want right now is an iced Apelu Island latte 😭 I wish I could order some Apelu off of Uber Eats. That's my one and only gripe. Love y'all so much!

The ham cheese and dijon mustard bagel is delicious. And if you get a latte, try the banana bread while it’s in season! - taste just like a piece of banana bread. 10/10 highly recommend

2/15/24 - I have stopped by here a few times now. I cannot get over their breakfast sandwich and bakery goods. Anytime they have something new out, I always get at least one thing so I can try it. My favorite drink so far is their Matcha frap and I add dark chocolate drizzle to it. I have gotten their valentine day brownies, taro cupcake, red velvet, etc. I have also tried their lemonade which was refreshing but it did taste like I was drinking candy and also had carbonation to it. There is definitely a variety of things to try. They also have different menus for the seasons, like winter, Christmas, valentine's, etc. Service is always great too! I am excited to keep coming back to try new things though.

I must have been a Samoan in my past life. I love this coffee shop and I love the people that work here. They all may not know me on a first name basis, but anytime I walk thru the door they already start making my drink. They are always so sweet and kind to me. I'm addicted to their signature taro cold foam!! Give this local family owned spot a chance. They are better and cheaper than Starbucks (even with adding a tip to the coffee). 🔥💜

Unique food, in a relaxed atmosphere with great service. If you are looking for some food with some flair, would recommend stopping into Apelu. We landed in Norfolk and looked for a quick breakfast bite, Apelu hit the spot with a friendly staff.

felt like i was at home. everyone is so naturally nice and welcoming here and i could practically feel the love that was poured into my salted caramel iced latte. the restaurant is very clean and kept well, i liked that there was a small area for the little ones to play as well.

Today was my first time trying Apelu & it didn’t disappoint! I don’t live on this side of town, so I didn’t even know it existed. It was the perfect spot to grab coffee before heading over to sit & enjoy the water this morning.

The service was absolutely fabulous! The staff were friendly & the wait for my drink was less than 5 minutes.

It was clean & well kept. I will definitely visit again when I’m over that way!

Awesome coffee and pastries! Only critique I have is they should probably take names with the coffee orders. It was pretty busy and someone walked away with my coffee, ended up getting another but that was a little upsetting.

A really cute Pacific-islander themed Cafe that I wished I discovered sooner! I tried the White Taro mocha w/ oatmilk. It was so good and not oversweetened at all. I'll be back for sure.

I had so many questions, and the staff was incredibly nice, understanding, and patient with me. The Apelu Lu Iced Latte is absolutely delicious, coconut and hazelnut make it so refreshing for a morning pick-me-up! The Cucumber Watermelon Mint Refresher hits all the taste buds with bright, natural flavors. Both the drinks and the staff made the experience wonderful!

We went back for more! You really can’t go wrong with whichever drink you choose, everything has been amazing!

I was so excited to find some local aloha and Apelu delivered!! Such a warm, inviting place with great coffee and musubi. Can't wait to hangout here with friends while enjoying my coffee.
