Best BBQ we’ve had in a long time! We got the brisket and spare ribs meal. Portion sizes are great - every item from the meats to the sides were loaded with flavor. The green beans had a nice crunch and slight spicy kick to them. The Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious! Definitely will be getting more next time we see the truck! Others around us at the Daffodil Festival were asking where we got the meal from because it looked so delicious!
I absolutely love this place. Enjoyed every bite. I also love the fact that it’s black owned.
Had the chopped beef with macaroni (sorry forgot the name) and the street corn stuff it was great . As i was finishing up they offered me a slice of sweet potato cornbread that might as well have been desert it was so good .

Amazing! Finally got to try it Bar-Q and I promise it did not disappoint! I recommend everything that I tried, and heard that everything that I did not try was amazing as well! Smack & Beef! Hush puppies! Fries! Wings! 100% “Freaking Bussin” according to my teen!
While my lunch was expensive, it was worth every bite. All I need is good pulled pork, and Bar-Q blew me away with the *best* hush-puppies I've ever had, incredible sweet-potato cornbread, and lawdy that smack & cheese. El Cerdo Borracho sandwich was really good, too, but maybe do your slaw on the side.

Best Bbq East of Mississippi! The brisket is top notch Mac & cheese is delicious and so cheesy I could fill up on that. Cole slaw is just right amount spices, crunch and well balanced taste The desserts are to die for! So many to choose from cookies (chocolate chip my favorite) to cheesecake brownies. Friendly staff and delicious food with beer at the other counter. It’s heaven!!!

Bar-Q Review:
Bar-Q promises a rustic BBQ experience, but the reality left me hungry for something more than just a good dessert. I ventured into their world of smoked meats and Southern sides, hoping for that finger-licking, soul-comforting goodness. Instead, I found myself in a culinary landscape where the pumpkin cheesecake was king—strange in a land where ribs and brisket should reign supreme.
Let’s start with the undeniable star: the pumpkin cheesecake. It was a revelation, a decadent dream that wrapped you up in the warm, spiced embrace of fall. Rich, silky, and impossibly creamy, it left an imprint that everything else on the menu couldn’t touch. This cheesecake could have ruled an entire meal, and I would have happily surrendered to it.
Then came the mac and cheese, the prince of the meal. Warm, gooey, and with just the right amount of cheesy pull, it had enough flavor to temporarily distract me from what was to come. A noble attempt, but it couldn’t fully save the experience.
Now, the collard greens—the side that’s supposed to be the soul of a Southern meal—were tragically bland, as if they had forgotten what it means to truly season something. A shadow of what they should have been, they fell flat, leaving me with a bite of disappointment.
And the ribs… oh, the ribs. Small, cold, and utterly forgettable. The brisket followed in their icy footsteps, arriving at the table without even a whisper of warmth. It was as though they had been left out in the cold, just waiting for someone to remember them. Unfortunately, their flavor was as cold as their temperature.
Bar-Q had the potential to be something great, but what should have been the heroes of the meal—the ribs and brisket—were left out in the cold, quite literally. The pumpkin cheesecake shouldn’t have had to carry the whole meal on its sugary shoulders, but it did. In the end, I was left wondering how a BBQ spot managed to get dessert so right, but the heart of the meal so wrong.

Probably the top 2 bbq joints I've had in Virginia. I highly recommend it. It's also combined with a brewery which is cool since you can order beers (separate counter) everything there is good but I highly recommend their pork belly! Their mac n cheese and potato salad are great too!

I really try not to give 5 stars too often but the food here was absolutely delicious.
Ordered the pork belly burnt ends and brisket.
Burnt ends were a little sweet and filled with fat. Absolutely delightful.
Brisket was nicely smoked and wasn’t dry at all, bbq sauce paired well with it.
