I'm not sure if they have a new chef or what the deal is but the food has been disappointing lately, to say the least. I ordered Beef Vegetable Soup but it didn't have any beef in it. I still gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered a Fish Filet sandwich w/pasta salad a couple weeks later. The fish was dry from being frozen. I asked for hot sauce, they gave me buffalo sauce and I only got TWO spoonfuls of pasta salad for $10.00!! I should've went to Burger King!! Now I see WHY they're closing!!
I discovered this place while building what is now, (the new) Norfolk Circuit court Clerk's office. That was over five years ago. My personal go to favorite is the "TURKEY" sausage, egg, and cheese, crescent. However, I haven't had a disappointing meal from here yet. The drawback is that this place is only open Mon.-Fri. Which actually makes perfect sense, do to courthouse days of operation.
We were visiting the area for the week and didn't want to eat at the hotel. The Brickhouse Diner was a yummy place for breakfast. The service was great, the waitress was kind and helpful. She handled at least 6 tables on her own and if I were blind I would never have known how busy it was for her. She even offered my husband coffee to go at no extra cost. We both enjoyed our breakfast on both days. I definitely recommend the blueberry pancakes, they were delicious!
Service was great, food was pretty ok. The chicken pesto sandwich left something to be desired. The home made chips were spot on though!
I booked a reservation for a party of 8 for Friday morning at 9am. We were in Norfolk for a conference, and were looking for a good breakfast meetup. This was the best choice we made all conference! The servers were so kind and extra attentive throughout our stay. I ordered the two eggs special, with sausage, home fries, and toast. The food was well prepared and well seasoned. But honestly, my favorite part and what sticks with me is just how excellent the wait staff was. Glad we chose this place.
Food was great and so was the service. We went in for brunch on a Friday. It was a clean quaint little restaurant. I would definitely eat here again if I was in town.
As always delicious!!!! Love this place
We are regulars during courthouse hours! I love to go there for lunch or just a cup of coffee. Everyone is very sweet. Yes, it’s slow moving but I enjoy that energy and kindness from the servers. Feels more relaxed when our office can be very busy at work. Prices are reasonable!
Super nice staff. Had a great rehearsal dinner here. Perfect for downtown Norfolk. Very well done with a great price
Staff and food were on point. Highly recommend

Delicious chicken salad sandwich. Homemade chips not so much. They were a bit burned or overdone
Delicious breakfast and very friendly staff. Court time was delayed so we walked right across the street and we’re glad they were open! Can’t wait to come back.
I love this place, they are my extended family. They take care of me and always check to make sure my family is doing good. The food is amazing, the staff have the best customer service (watch out chick-fil-a) and the owner is amazing. Stop in and they will make you feel right at home
Very good food and friendly staff
The food is pretty good, we were the only ones there for a while. The ladies serving us were sweet and we got our food fast.
