First time customer. The can see myself becoming a regular here. Vanilla oat milk latte was delish and the waffle sandwich gets its own set of 5 stars!

I visited Café Stella today and was disappointed by the service. The woman behind the counter was curt and dismissive, even placing my meal down abruptly with a terse “here.” When I later called to speak with the manager, the same woman answered, then attempted to disguise her voice before saying the manager was unavailable. The experience left me uncomfortable, and I will not be returning.

Cafe Stella's has been my go-to study place for years now. Hands down best coffee in the Norfolk-VB area, and the staff is much more personable than employees at Starbucks. The breakfast food is great too!

We tried the new vegan Smash Curry Chickpea Salad. Very well done. Also bought a pound of Cafe Stella Brazil coffee. One of ours go to places for a good meal and coffee. We also like their ice teas.

Disgusting service. A woman politely asked me to purchase her a sandwich, which I was happy to do, and because the staff saw this they asked her to leave. After this, the staff came to my table and told me not to give this woman food, which was fully not their business and completely unnecessary. Will not be returning. What a gross experience.

Great customer service, food, and the perfect place to meet with friends. You can enjoy coffee during the day and the amazing wine selection in the evening.

This was a very cute cafe and with great atmosphere. However, it fell short in customer service and quality of drinks. I ordered a 16oz mocha, 2 shots and regular milk. The person taking our (my sister and I) orders wasn’t rude but like non-inviting, she acted like she wasn’t really to be taking our orders. We try complementing the business because the prices were great, but she was like ‘why are you still stand here’, still I want to give the benefit of a doubt that it was a busy day. For the drink, it was kinda gross (this is a harsh word but the best way to describe it). There wasn’t any foam or latte art (something that was posted all over advertisements), my sister said she saw it just plopped in the cup with minimal effort. The flavor was weak with almost no chocolate flavor and weak espresso. In my sister drink, the espresso tasted burnt, but, I went with some more of my family and all there drinks tasted great!

Though my experience wasn’t that great, it might be better for you. The price was amazing $7.88 for two drinks, much cheaper than one small drink at Starbucks. The place was also very nice, it was this rustic, industrial cafe, super atmospheric with great aesthetic!

Don’t let my experience dissuaded you from going. This could just be an isolated incident, and this isn’t meant to be an insult to the cafe, it takes a lot work to get a cafe open and going, this was just my experience.

I've always loved this café. The taste in both food and decor is dynamic and inviting. The seating is wherever you please and they advertise community events on their public board. Having been a patron for a while, I'd say they're fairly in touch with their surrounding community!

Do NOT recommend. Older 40-50s- years-old male server or owner was rude. I’m not sure why we were treated inappropriately, given my interaction was neutral and polite. The food is also overpriced for what is served.

The young male cashier was kind and helpful, but we will not be coming here again, or recommending to our friends.

The owner - an older white male with brown hair with what sounded to be an Eastern European or Middle Eastern accent - was extremely rude with no reason.

Initially, my African American partner, who is currently crippled from a health condition, left the table to make room for other guests as he finished eating.

I got up and the owner came over to pick up his plate. He made a strange comment about the sugar packets left on the table. Initially I thought there was a disconnect in language, and I possibly misunderstood him.

Following this, I ordered an egg burrito to-go. After 30 min of waiting, my partner suggested that I check on it. As I was waiting at the end of the barista counter, for the cashier to return, the owner asked if I was waiting for something.

Me: Yes, an egg burrito to-go.
Owner: Do you have an order number?
Me: Yes, it’s over on the table. I’m checking, since it’s been about 30-40 minutes.
Owner: You see we are busy, don’t you?

Please improve your customer service. No customer should be treated this way, particularly when unprovoked.

In terms of food, my partner’s $12 sandwich had 2 small pieces of meat on his pastrami sandwich.

I was excited to try out Cafe Stella after seeing how popular they get and their great ratings but I have to be honest I’m a little disappointed. I ordered the Granby sandwich and it was tasty but it was my mistake that I thought it came with some kind of meat on it. I also ordered a plain iced latte so I could taste the quality of their espresso and I honestly couldn’t taste anything other than milk. I’ve never been so underwhelmed by a coffee drink. My husband enjoyed his Polish breakfast and said it was a lot of food for only $10. He also liked his black coffee but I found it too bitter. Overall aesthetic was very cute and I could see many people working or doing homework here but certainly the coffee isn’t enough to make me want to come back. Would consider coming back to try more food options.
