Had such a great night here! My handsome date and I were lucky enough to attend the first Valentine's dinner and Jazz night! Music was great and inviting. It was a busy evening so service was a little slow, but the owner was amazing. She checked on us several times, kept us updated on our food, and handled everything so well. You could tell they really cared about everyone having a good experience. Definitely coming back for another jazz night!

Recently me and some friends decided to go and study during a packed night. even during the packed environment they had (there is a constant problem of 1 person taking up a table of 6+) we decided to stay there, study, and use our money because we have frequented cafe stella and enjoyed it. Due to the packed environment this left us with only one outlet for my partner to use. this went across the walkway a little but we happily told the 4 people who passed to watch their step and everyone appreciated it. After being there for about an hour and half enjoying our coffee and food we suddenly hear someone walk in and start snapping on us for having the cord across the room, we of course weren’t going to start anything so we started to move until the person who walked in (who i later find out is the owner, it seems she may have been a little too embarrassed to tell me) continued to harass my partner so i stood up for them and tried to tell the owner that we just haven’t had time to move our charger since the space next to us freed up (the person who sat next to us was using the charger but they moved a few minutes prior to this and we just hadn’t stopped our work yet because we were focused) and that we are listening to her but the only reason we are having this conversation is because we just want you to start a conversation politely. your pent up anger on this situation happening frequently should not be put on a separate customer and it’s quite sad that a business owner cant see that. i would think one of the most important things is maintaining a professional image no matter how you feel inside. sadly every time i tried explaining this she just harped on “it’s a urgent hazard” when i literally was saying that we understand that but we just want you to be polite. her defense in this was to be snarky and unprofessional by saying “you’re right, you’re right” then proceeding to tell us how we are wrong. if a business owner cant see that starting a conversation like that is unprofessional then you honestly shouldn’t be one. i have also seen the other low reviews on here and it seems that she likes to do things like this often because of her annoyance to something happening frequently. ma’am if you can’t find a solution outside of causing a conflict you are not fit for this job. and i have seen how she responds too, the whole “theres two sides to this mirror” bull shit doesnt work here. you’re a business owner with customers, you wanna maintain a good look or not?

Great traditional coffee house. Lots of seating but it gets crowded with students and others because it is a popular place. Sunday afternoon can be difficult to find a seat. Great coffee drinks and many others, ABC license. Regular Americano is outstanding and the pots of herbal tea are great for sharing, 3 tea bags per pot. For a sweet snack, the cardamon cake is amazing. Live background music every other Friday night 7:30-9:30 you can still converse while playing. Awesome aroma when he is roasting the coffee beans on Friday nights.

Well, after 7 years living here, and 5 visits to Stella, I decided 1 more chance... I haven't been in over a year, and here's why: Customer service has been hit or miss, food is mediocre at best, Cobwebs on every fixture (including over the uncovered water in dingy pitchers). Obviously, the owner doesn't care; it has been this way since my first visit 7 yrs ago. That being said, I've never had a coffee drink until tonight. Usually I would get a Golden Latte, which is oook. The Mocha was actually good, but it's not enough for me to return with the grimy and filthy environment!

I visited Café Stella today and was disappointed by the service. The woman behind the counter was curt and dismissive, even placing my meal down abruptly with a terse “here.” When I later called to speak with the manager, the same woman answered, then attempted to disguise her voice before saying the manager was unavailable. The experience left me uncomfortable, and I will not be returning.
